About the Author & FAQThat's a hard one. Sometimes, I get the emotion first, and then the characters follow. Sometimes, snippets of dialogue come to me, and then I have to break it apart to understand why I liked it so much. Actually, most of the comic ideas are drawn (no pun intended) from hanging out in the living room of our apartment or sitting at a restaurant getting angry looks from the families with small children sitting around us. The non-real characters and some of the stories come from the collective lore of our group of friends that’s been developing for about 10 years.Related Questions
Karen KingsburyI get my ideas from life happening around me, mostly. The news, the radio, a conversation, a trend, a contemporary struggle of some sort. He puts the picture in my head, the whole story. It's very visual. I'm just responsible for getting it onto paper.Related Questions

Jodi Picoult | FAQsUsually, a what-if question: what if a boy left standing after a botched suicide pact was accused of murder? This is oftentimes what happens as people come in and they want to do the thing where the, you know -- a city is taken over. You just can't do that on an X-Files. It's unbelievable.

Joel Mabus FAQThis question is asked a lot, and I wish I had an answer. When I look back at a song I may have written some years ago, I often wonder where a line or phrase came from myself.
