Digital printing is the process in which printed output is generated on demand by an output device. Large format printing generally refers to output larger than tabloid sizes, or about 11x17. At SOS-Station, large format usual means 22x28 inches to billboard sizes.

No. Many students choose to be creative with poster boards and construction paper instead of computer printing. Just make sure you follow the poster guidelines, include all the necessary sections, and ensure that your poster is legible from a distance of 4-6 feet away.

This is imaging output on our ENCAD NovaJet 700 Inkjet printer. This printer produces images up to 5 feet wide and as long as you may require.

Tests have shown that images can be printed at much larger sizes, depending on the image type and screen ruling used. On composite inkjet devices, customers regularly reproduce our images on posters at A0 sizes and larger. Large Format paper is media in any size larger than A3. We hold in stock a substantial quantity of Large Format high quality paper, both coated and uncoated, suitable for the current range of inkjet printers and plain paper copiers. Answer: Yes we can, and if you are a new customer we will always ask you to confirm what make and model your printer/plotter or copier is to ensure that the paper you have ordered will be the correct width, correct length and correct core size to suit your machine.

Thick, spongey cover stock is best. We use Somerset 100% Cotton 300 gm Soft White and 330 gm Radiant White as our "house" #1 grade sheet for customers who want the best possible. We also carry Strathmore 110 lb Wove cover, which is thick, but is a stiffer sheet. It is more economical, especially in the higher quantity orders, but doesn't get quite the depth of impression that Somerset does.

Absolutely mandatory: double-spaced, page numbers, margins of 1 or 1.25 inch. Other notes on format and common mechanical errors.

We can print Black & White and the four process colors used in offset printing (Cyan [C], Magenta [M], Yellow [Y]and Black [K]). When these four colors are printed with halftone screens of various angles in this subtractive print method, they create oranges, reds, violets, and so on.

A minimum of 100 ppi (pixels per inch) at the final output size is suggested. (An example would be: 6"x6" original to be output 20"x20". 20 divided by 6 = 3.3. So you are enlarging your image 4 times. 4x100ppi = 400 ppi. You should scan your original at 400 ppi, when your image is enlarged 4 times the resolution goes down 4 times, resulting in a 20x20 at 100 ppi.) Vector based graphics & text (Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, QuarkXPress) are scaleable to any size.

The optimum resolution for large format printing is 150 dpi at the final printed size. If the digital picture is between 72 and 150 dpi at the final printed size and has good quality colour and contrast then it should be fine.

You can provide a disk that will be used in a computer-to-plate process. If you wish to control the process, you may work through the proofing process and provide a contract proof and a disk ready to rip and make plates. (Due to variations in the digital proofing process, we will need to make a proof calibrated to our printing process to compare with the proof provided. Additional system work may be required to assure the printed product will match your contract proof.

The printing technique is a special offset-lithography with a high density of dots. The following Gates prints are printed on a special paper called hammered cardboard with an ivory surface. It is similar to the paper used by artists for drawing. The paper is very thick, a little rough and therefore very resistant to any damage. The printer needs between three and ten times the ink in relation to a normal art print paper because the surface is not closed and the ink goes deep inside the paper.

If you are prining a photo, send the file in JPEG or TIFF format. If you send the file in JPEG format make sure the resolution is set at about 300 dpi, so that the image will appear crisp when printed. B) If you are printing a logo, send the file in an EPS format if possible. If you send your file in EPS format, your logo will be crisp and clear, no matter what size you print it.

With overseas printing we accept all the standard file formats from QuarkXpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Photoshop, etc... Depending on the size of the files, our clients provide us with CD's, DVD's or portable hard drive(returned to client upon completion of project). The default format will be 12 Font Book Antiqua, Arial, or Tahoma. All pages will be Double Spaced, one-inch margins on all four sides, 250 words per page. You will also receive a separate page for Reference or Bibliography.

We do sheetfed offset printing using four different presses. Our maximum sheetsize is ?? X ??, and the maximum imageable area is ?? X ??.

Paper printing will have a different effect on ink than fabric printing. The colours will appear to be different but in reality it is because of the change of fibre from paper to fabric. You will find colour changes even when printing on different types of paper, such as a high gloss to a matt or satin paper.

Several manufacturers, including Contex, Vidar, Ocй and Calcomp make scanners specifically designed for large format documents up to E-size (34" x 44") and A-0 size (33" x 46.8"). If you do not have one of these, the document can be reduced in size using a photocopier and then scanned with a normal scanner, or sent to a service bureau that has large format scanners.

You may use our FTP site for uploading large data files. A link is provided in the "Resources" section of our web site but you will need to contact us for a user name and password. Please notify us by e-mail or phone once you have uploaded a file as we are not notified automatically. We will automatically delete files once they have been downloaded for production. Plain 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper is all that's required. The paper tray holds up to 50 sheets—and loading paper takes just seconds. A sample supply of paper is included with the Printing Mailbox. No expensive photo paper is required. The Printing Mailbox comes with an HP 95 Tri-Color Print Cartridge. You can use either an HP 95 or an HP 97 Tri-Color Print Cartridge. These standard print cartridges are available through Presto or at most electronics and office-supply stores.

The easiest step to try is to print in "landscape" mode rather than "portrait" mode. If this does not solve your problem, try changing the printing font in your Internet browser to a smaller size. Some browsers, such as Netscape 3.0, allow one to select a smaller size font than the choices shown in the menu box. For Netscape 3.0: select "options-preferences-choose fixed font-font size". Sizes 5-7 will print several more columns than a size 8 font. For Netscape 4.

Step 2—Tap a stack of 8.5 x 11-inch paper (up to 50 pages) on a flat surface to align the edges. Step 3—Insert the stack of paper into the tray and slide it forward until it stops as indicated below. Step 4—Close the top cover. Note: If the paper light continues to blink, check that the top cover is closed properly.

Wide format printing can take from 24 to 72 hours based on the quantity, type of printing and finishing requested. We've built our reputation on quick turns and great service. Some King County imagery is available in the convenient MrSID format, but many users report difficulties getting imagery in this format to print out correctly. If you are having trouble with this, you may have an outdated MrSID driver file or your environment variables may be set incorrectly.
