However with the 5th Anniversary of the Biohazard/Resident Evil series in approaching them for March 2001 the choice was made in late 2000 to bring Code Veronica to the PlayStation 2. In interviews in Japan, Mikami and the CV director Hiroki Kato, both apologized to those who rushed out to purchase the Dreamcast edition expecting it to be only one like they originally said.
