YES - Midwest City 911 uses a computer system that is compatible with TTY/TDD machines so that we can communicate directly with the hearing impaired. If calling from a phone without a TTY machine connected, you can leave the phone off the hook [as long as it's not a cell phone] and Enhanced 911 will give the address so that police officers can be dispatched. There is also a TTY/TDD machine in the E.O.C. for non-emergency calls.

Hearing loss usually happens a little bit at a time over a long period. If hearing loss happened suddenly, people would immediately seek help. Gradual hearing deterioration means, unfortunately, that people put off getting help until they are very frustrated or have withdrawn from social situations. The Broward Center, in partnership with the Fort Lauderdale Broadway Series, is pleased to offer our patrons with hearing difficulties the wonder of live Opened Captioned Performances of touring Broadway shows. These special shows take place during the second Saturday matinee performance of each Broadway touring show. We place a hold on certain seats for our patrons requiring access to the captioning board. These seats are available through our Call Center or the Box Office.
