The LD50 (dose at which 50% of animals die) of DXM doesn't seem to be well known. For a variety of reasons, animal assays of the lethal dose of psychoactives aren't always accurate. Nor have I ever found a published LD50 for DXM. So instead, I've decided to go on the basis of the few deaths that have occurred from DXM use, keeping in mind the amount of DXM people regularly consume for recreational purposes.

The LD50 of Diphenhydramine in rats is 500mg/kg. For humans it is not known, so be careful! Lethal doses in humans are almost always far less than lethal doses in rats (allowing for body weight differences), so don't try to take the rat LD50 and apply it to yourself. Also, note that the LD50 is the dose at which 50% of the subjects will die. A lower dose will still kill a smaller proportion of the subjects - i.e. it may be that the LD10 (i.e. 10% mortality) for rats is just 100 mg/kg.

Much controversy surrounds this question. As little as 20 mg (substantially less than a single line) injected intravenously can be lethal while between 500mg and 1.4 g nasally or orally is considered dangerous. Purity, mixing with other substances (especially heroin), environment, and the individual are all factors. It is not recommended to rub cocaine on any exposed tissues or the mucous membranes of the genitals.

DXM is a safe and effective cough suppressant ingredient found in over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicines. When used according to directions, products containing DXM produce few side effects and have a long history of safety and effectiveness. Some teens are attempting to get high by taking much larger than recommended doses of DXM in the form of OTC cough syrup, tablets and gel caps. In these high doses, DXM can produce hallucinogenic and dissociative effects.

Yes, however, I wouldn't advise ingestion. It can be dangerous to ingest just as your normal shampoo is, or toothpaste, or 100 gallons of soda pop. But overall it is pretty safe except for the severe diarrhea accompanied by ingestion.

Both killer bees and fire ants attack en masse when disturbed. They can both cause fatal allergic reactions, in susceptible individuals. Africanized bees can overwhelm and kill even healthy, non-allergic people, but encounters are rather rare. Fire ants can't overwhelm a healthy, mobile person and even hundreds of stings are rarely fatal.

Exposure of 100 roentgens causes radiation sickness while exposure to 400 roentgens causes radiation sickness and death in half of those exposed, and 100,000 rads causes almost immediate unconsciousness and death within an hour.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. Do not stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor. We recommend that both humans and pets double the daily dose (e.g. take ½ oz per day) for the first two weeks. (½ oz is the same as 1 tablespoon). After the first two weeks you should take the normal dose, (¼ oz) everyday. You can take Flexicose anytime of the day and you do not need to spread out the dose for Flexicose to be effective. For pets the dosage is slightly different - see the below dosage table.

Since food substantially increases the bioavailability of erlotinib and may increase the risk of adverse events, patients should be instructed to take Tarceva at least one hour before or two hours after the ingestion of food. The degree that food increases the bioavailability of erlotinib may vary; therefore, Tarceva tablets should be taken on an empty stomach to help ensure that patients obtain consistent plasma levels of the drug.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

A computer contains significant levels of hazardous wastes. In approximate descending order, these contaminants are lead, cadmium, zinc, copper, chromium, mercury, manganese, antimony, arsenic, nickel, trichloroethanes, and PCB's. Computer leachate from TCLP testing reveals that they are classified as Characteristic Hazardous Waste and thus may be banned form landfills under federal RCRA regulations. TCLP test on computers reveals average lead concentration of greater than 100 PPM with a min.

This is a small list of some of the things which people have reported were particularly unpleasant, boring, or otherwise unenjoyable. Most individuals who have exercised under the influence of DXM have reported negative effects such as nausea, vomiting, cramping, and a general loss of the more enjoyable aspects of the trip. This seems to become more and more significant with higher doses of DXM. The one exception seems to be swimming, which if done on a first plateau DXM dose can be enjoyable.

Some people have trouble achieving hallucinations on DXM. Here are some suggestions that may be helpful, based on reports I have received (note: none of this should be taken as advice in any way; I'm just passing this along): Place yourself in partial or complete darkness. Most NMDA/sigma agents seem to give the best hallucinations when there is little or no visual input. Close your eyes.

The effects of DXM abuse vary with the amount taken. Common effects can include confusion, dizziness, double or blurred vision, slurred speech, impaired pysical coordination, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rapid heart beat, drowsiness, numbness of fingers and toes, and disorientation. DXM abusers describe different "plateaus" ranging from mild distortions of color and sound to visual hallucinations and "out-of-body," dissociative, sensations, and loss of motor control.

There are currently no adequate prevalence measures of DXM abuse, however, use is estimated to be low compared to other drugs. Abuse of cough medicines containing DXM is characterized as sporadic by the Drug Enforcement Administration. There is little in current teen culture - music, movies, fashion and entertainment - that promotes or even mentions cough medicine abuse. The one exception is the Internet.

Yes, especially if you take too much. Some of the more important dangers you might want to know about are: The last -- brain damage -- is fairly rare, occurring in less than 1% of the regular users I've interviewed. They all used DXM very frequently. If you do DXM twice a month or less, you'll probably be OK. But remember there's always the risk of something going wrong.

All chemical processes in this section require pure DXM. If you do not have pure DXM, you must extract from cough formulae as above (and purify it really well). Most of these processes require significant skill, and access to lab equipment and chemicals. To my knowledge none of this is illegal (but don't take my word on it). Don't fret if your yields aren't as good as specified. Most of the procedures are from the same source (96). This is probably the easiest by far.
