The major in German Language & Literature and the major in German Studies both require eight courses (32 points) at the advanced level. The prerequisite for both majors is the successful completion of German language training through the intermediate level; language courses at the elementary or intermediate levels cannot be counted for major credit.

A minor in German requires 5 courses (20 points), including at least two courses at the advanced (100 or higher) level. Courses taught in English cannot be used to satisfy minor requirements. However, up to 12 points of elementary or intermediate language study may be counted for the minor.

Laurentian University H.B.Com courses are designed for study in an online environment. A course typically comprises 10 or 11 modules and is delivered over a 13-week period.
