Honestly? For the most part I think they are hilarious. Sometimes they get me down a bit, or get on my nerves, but not for long, and in general they can be pretty funny. There are a few who make interesting comments and I do give them some thought, but I don't necessarily act on them. I've had people try to compare my work to Literary Fiction as a justification for raking me over the coals. I've had people just say they didn't like it because it wasn't written the way they would write it.

Review, or softbound copies are just fine. Many writers send out review copies rather than the finished, bound book.

Many publishers send us all of their books on Japan or send us those we request. The editors also help in identifying new books for review. We cannot review all new books on Japan, nor can we always find suitable and willing reviewers for all of the books we would like to review. We generally will not ask someone who has been thanked by an author or quoted on the dust jacket to review that particular book. Potential reviewers are identified by our editors and advisors.

We're brilliant. Actually, we do our best to support material that's off the beaten path. Non-mainstream books, music, and movies. But we also attempt to provide a comprehensive database of reviews for what's current.

Primarily political or normative These are guidelines, not regulations; if you think a book deserves review in Social Forces even though it doesn't fit the guidelines, we're always happy to take a look.

David Chizmadia (September, 1998)14 : CORBASEC currently includes an optional Non-Repudiation Security service. The SecSIG currently expects to issue an RFP (Request for Proposal) for a Data Protection service that would allow for applications to request that a block of data be "wrapped" to protect both its integrity and confidentiality. In both cases, the services are easily implemented using (IDUP15 )-GSS as their foundation.

David Chizmadia (September, 1998)18 : The CORBA Security Specification (CORBAsec) currently give apps the ability to indicate that they want the ORB to establish a mutually authenticated connection between a client object and a target object. The strength of the mutual authentication is determined by a policy set by the ORB security administrator and optionally overriden by the application.
