If we were to compromise its structural integrity by installing an older non-wind rated component, the entire structure would be jeopardized should a hurricane hit. Furthermore, during the construction process inspectors must see the engineering specifications and installation instructions for each type of door and window installed.

NO. Your new GADCO door has been specifically engineered with track, spring(s) and hardware to provide long lasting, trouble free performance. The old set may be worn and have metal fatigue which can be a safety concern. Also, the hardware may not line up with the new sections.

YES. GADCO recommends that you check with your opener manufacturer to insure compliance with today's laws regarding safety features. Upon verification that your opener meets all current government requirements, most openers can be reattached to a GADCO door. Important...be sure an opener prep kit is in place before attempting to reinstall the opener. Review the installation instructions supplied to you with the door and opener.

We have had people purchase the operator for garage doors. You probably would have install it as a push-to-open application. We do not support garage door applications. Wind can also be a problem. See the FAQ above on solid gates.

In most cases the top needs to be removed to insert the new window section. You can only do this if you vehicle is a two-piece top. Sometimes there is not much extra expense to just replace both pieces.

If your top assembly is a two piece top and the window is not separating from the material around it you could use your existing window with a new top. In fact there are some cars that you actually need to reuse the glass. The Mazda RX-7 is one of these. If the window is separating from the material around it then you need to buy a new window section.
