The Imaging software that comes with Windows 95/98/NT/2000 is usually the default TIFF editor that launches automatically when you double click on a fax. This application can read and print our TIFF files properly. When you install certain applications, like Corel Draw or Microsoft Publisher, they replace the default TIFF editor with their own.

Just press the 'Print Screen' key & your entire screen will be saved as an image on the clipboard, then just paste the image into a PowerPoint slide and re-size. If you hold down the 'Alt' key while pressing 'Print Screen', you'll only capture the active dialog box. When the mBox system receives a fax, it needs to detect the fax tones from the sending fax machine. If these tones are not received correctly, the result could be an empty voice file. To minimise this happening, ensure the sender presses the send button as soon as the number is dialled.

This is due to the sending fax machine using different scanning resolutions in the horizontal and vertical directions (eg. the 'draft' mode might use one resolution whilst 'fine'/'letter' mode might use one with twice the number of pixels). The 'TIFF' format contains resolution information to stretch the images back to the correct aspect ratio but some viewing programs ignore this information.

If you have forwarded the fax and it is enlarged, it has not been re-sized. Simply remove the fwd: from the subject line to have the fax appear normal size.

Some versions of AOL are set to drastically compress photos. It's easy to change. Click the "Settings" button on the task bar, and choose "Internet (Web) Options from the menu. The first screen that comes up says is about "AOL Topspeed" and asks if you want to compress graphics. Click "never compress graphics" and you've changed the setting. We've found it only very minimally affects the processing speed and we leave it at this setting all the time.

For some AOL users, a default setting of "Use Compressed Graphics" is turned on in their WWW preferences. Images on our site have been optimized to achieve the smallest possible file size without sacrificing quality. Further compression of these already optimized images in AOL causes these images to become distorted. To turn off image compression in AOL, deselect the "Use Compressed Graphics" option in your WWW preferences.

Your browser preferences may be set to "compress graphics" (this is the default setting for America Online and CompuServe users). This means that certain image files (especially photographs) on this or any site may not display correctly on your browser. When the Participant's monitor size & resolution is smaller than that of the Host PC, in order for the entire image of the desktop to be displayed, the image will appear compressed. Have them click the "Scale desktop" icon on the their eBLVD Client Browser toolbar.

Go into the Device Manager and remove all items listed under "Display Adapters". To remove an item in Windows XP and Windows 2000, select the item, click the Action menu, choose Uninstall. To remove an item in Windows 98 and Windows ME, select the item and click Remove. If the installation asks you for the drivers, point the installation to drivers. Use the disk labeled "Electronic Manuals and Driver CD", to obtain the driver (you may have to browse to a specific directory).
