A fan draws air in at the air cleaner´s lower edge, both front and back. First the air passes through a pre-filter. The largest dust particles are caught there. Then the air passes through an ionising unit where the particles are charged with positive ions. Then the air passes through the main filter, which consists of collector sheets of plastic-coated paper with positive and negative charge. A high voltage unit keeps the charge on the collector sheets constant.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends if there is space between ceiling joists. You need at least 24 inches opening between joists for the air cleaner. If you have adequate clearance, an attic crawlspace installation is similar to the drop ceiling scenario. Cut the appropriate sized hole in the ceiling material and finish the edges with the supplied trim. The SE400 and SE800 are designed to run 24/7, but in most cases, they will not need to run constantly. A good practice is to turn the air cleaner(s) on high speed prior to opening time, to get a head start on air circulation ? this helps reduce the chance of your air cleaning equipment having to play "catch-up." Once patrons start rolling in, you may choose to reduce the air cleaner fan speed if high speed is not necessary.

Furnace blower pulls airborne pollen and pollutant particles into the air cleaner. The prefilter screen traps large particles. Smaller particles pass through to the charging section and receive a positive electrical charge from a series of tungsten wire s. Remove it from your furnace or air conditioner. Hose it out with a garden hose in the opposite direction of the airflow arrow printed on it. Air is drawn into the unit to capture particles. The airborne particles pass through an electrostatic field and receive an ionized charge. The charged particles move into a collector section where each alternate plate is charged with the same polarity as the particles. This drives the particles to the second set of plates of an opposite charge to attract and collect the particles. The remaining air, cleaned up to 95% of its impurities, is then returned to the plant or building.

Media air cleaners draw pollutants from the air through a first stage pre-filter to capture large particulate. This extends the life of the primary media filter, which uses a combination of technologies including: straining, impaction, interception, and diffusion to strip submicron particles from the air. The lamp emits UV light that greatly reduces or eliminates germs such as mold, bacteria, spores, fungi and viruses circulated by the HVAC system. The American-Lights? germicidal lamp emits UVC rays at the optimum level for germ kill effectiveness. It is the strongest germicidal UV lamp on the market.

The only plastic components in the air cleaner are the fan blade, wheels or feet and the control knob on the front of the unit.

Electrolux Air cleaner’s electrical consumption is very low. At the lowest speed, which is the speed at which the air cleaner should operate continuously, it uses 20 watts. This is equivalent to the smallest light bulb. At the middle speed it uses 30 watts and at the highest speed 70 watts. Even at its highest speed, Electrolux Air cleaner does not use any more energy than an ordinary light bulb.

The Austin Air Cleaner uses ordinary 120 volt wall receptacles. Maximum draw is about 90 watts on high or about 1 cent per hour. It can be placed anywhere in a room, including corners, and you will still get the same excellent results. If the air cleaner turns over so that the cover falls off, the power is turned off automatically. If the cover stays on, nothing happens and the air cleaner operates as usual. There are three items that need to be programmed for each sensor before monitoring can begin. The items are: Sensor 1 is installed in a freezer. The max limit is 5°F and the min limit is -10°F and the defrost time delay is 45 minutes. The temperature at the sensor raises to 6°F. After 45 minutes the Property Guard will turn on the alarm relay and buzzer and begin to make emergency phone calls.
