Every class you take will be included on your transcript. The grade of a repeated class will not count against your GPA but will still be shown on your transcript.

You are required to submit both the official transcript and its English translation. If the institution you attend does not provide an English translation with the official transcript, you must obtain a certified English translation before submitting your application. Following these steps will ensure the validity of your transcript: Ask the translator to provide you with one sealed envelope containing both your original transcript and its English translation.

The computer system will not automatically pick up a repeated course. When the repeated class has been graded, submit a completed Repeat Form to Enrollment Services. The original grade remains on the record and the lower graded course is marked as a repeated course. The highest grade received will be used to calculate the cumulative grade point average. A course taken or repeated at another institution must be transferred to SLCC before a repeat can be processed.

The most recent grade will be calculated into your GPA. All other grades (for the repeated course) will still be noted on your transcript and will be marked with an “E,” which indicates “repeated course.” The original course will not count toward GPA hours nor toward earned hours.

The 'W' simply means that you withdrew from the course, nothing more - nothing less, and is not used when calculating your GPA. Failing a course is much worse than getting a 'W'. If you fail a course, you will not only receive an 'E', it will also be used in calculating your GPA which results in the lowering of both your quarter and overall GPA.

It is to the student’s benefit to repeat a class in which he/she received a grade of D or F to raise the GPA. In order to satisfy major requirements and General Education Requirements for CSU breadth and IGETC, the student must have a minimum of C grade in all coursework.
