No. NCAR Graphics was written to run on UNIX platforms only. If you have the NCAR Graphics source, then you are allowed to port to any kind of system you want. Notes from installers who have ported NCAR Graphics to various systems are available on our anonymous FTP account.

NCAR Graphics will run under Windows if you have Cygwin/XFree86 installed, and under MacOSX with XonX or some other X server running. We do not have a version of NCAR Graphics for VMS systems.

Use the ncargf77 command just like the f77 command to compile and link your program. It will load in the necessary NCAR Graphics libraries. NCL is built on top of NCAR Graphics. It was originally only available in binary format, while NCAR Graphics was available in source code and binary format. When we decided to release the source code for NCL, we decided at this time to combine the two packages and release them as one, since we have lots of users that use both.
