Scott Memorial Library is a major resource for the Jefferson community. The Library was one of the first in the nation to be fully computerized, with access to MEDLINE, MICROMEDEX, and other online database systems, as well as an online catalog of Jefferson’s book collection. The library’s periodical collection includes a number of nursing journals. Inter-library loan is available, as are copy machines.

Through the Texas State Library and Central Texas Library System, the library can access many databases that can help patrons with their personal, academic and professional research.

this time, the authentication server is used only for providing off-campus access to online resources (databases, electronic journals, e-books) subscribed by the ACC libraries. Almost all online library resources are made accessible to off-campus users this way. There are a few online resources that have special restrictions imposed by the vendor limiting their use to a particular building or to a particular department. Off-campus users will not have access to these resources.

Online students have access to the Minnesota West libraries web site. You can search the library MnPALS catalog and order books through interlibrary loan. The Periodicals/Database page provides access to 20+ databases of full text articles and full text subject reference resources. The Web Links by Subject page links to hundreds of general and subject websites to assist you in your research.

Many of the library's full-text articles are in PDF format. Adobe Reader is required to view PDF files. It is free and can be downloaded by clicking on the following graphic. Firewalls and pop-up blockers will sometimes interfere with access to library databases. If you are experiencing problems viewing library resources, try turning off or disabling these features.

Endnote is a program that allows the user to easily create bibliographies for papers and projects while researching inside the Online Catalog or various online databases. Endnote may be used to directly search the Online Catalog and certain databases or information downloaded from databases can be imported into Endnote for use as well. The LSU Libraries has information on Endnote and the files a user would need to use it in conjunction with our databases available at this webpage.

Nearly all online library resources are accessible from off-campus using your ASURITE ID and password. When selecting a resource that requires ASU authentication you will be confronted with a screen that asks for your ASURITE ID and password. Upon entering valid information you should have access to your selected resource for the duration of your browser session. The library uses the MNPals online system as our card catalog. MNPals is located at http://riverland.mnpals.net/F. On the reverse side of your student ID card you will find your 14 digits library number. The library password is your last name. Books and More on the library website identifies many databases students can use for information. Many articles are available in full text, meaning you can read the article on your computer screen or print to your printer.

The College Libraries provide reference materials and circulating books as well as newspapers and periodicals in current (paper), microfilm and electronic formats. Reference materials, periodicals and reserve books may be used only in the Libraries; circulating books may be borrowed for three weeks. Professional reference assistance, reserve materials, and access to other libraries' materials through inter-library loan are available.

Pitt's collection of electronic resources is growing rapidly and now includes thousands of databases, more than 5,500 electronic journals, and more than 147,000 electronic books. In addition, ULS now offers Zoom!, which allows users to search many different databases at the same time, including the librarys online catalog, PittCat.

The library houses two public terminals for patrons to use. Patrons may access the library's online catalog, Index Islamicus , Mideast Mirror and the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) . In addition, the library owns several CD-Roms. The library hopes to have wi-fi available in the near future. Non-members are allowed one free visit to the library. Once you attempted to access a particular resource and have been authenticated you will continue to make use of it as you would have on campus. However, the URL for the e-resource will be the URL of the proxy server and not of the e-resource itself. Therefore, if you wish to use your browser software to bookmark or make a favorite, it is recommended that you use the E-Resources page itself.

To access the Course Reserves section of the online library catalog, use the Find link on the library's home page and choose Reserves from the drop down menu.

Yes, most colleges and universities provide remote access to their databases. (you will need to know how to log into their site). Since our databases are designed for public library patrons, we recommend that you use the databases offered at your college or university for your coursework. Databases available at your college or university library are designed for an academic community, and will give you access to professional literature and scholarly journals (which we don’t have).
