Principally, you can change font using WinFont before calling TE_open. For example, you can do WinFont (DeskTop, F_8x10); However, the editor will work fine with both 6x8 and 8x10 fonts, but not with 4x6 font (try and see), because it is proportional, so the editor will be fooled (editors usually expects fixed-size fonts). This is a pity. The answer of the first part of the question is: just nothing. Options which are added on deeper levels are just ignored.

Text files have no font to speak of; the font is based purely on system configurations, so font choice ultimately will not affect the outcome of the FAQ. When writing a FAQ, use a fixed-width font to accurately create tables, charts, diagrams or otherwise paragraph alignments. Courier New is one of the commonly used fixed-width fonts. GNU Emacs. GNU Emacs is an extensible, customisable, self-documenting text editor that has been in development since 1984. A18: We recommend the freeware editor Wordtabs. If using WordTabs, be sure to pull down "Tools...Options...Click the "general" tab, and UNcheck "RTF is default Format". We currently only provide Microsoft Word to users with their own desktop.
