Generally, the deciding factor to this dilemma is the total speaker load impedance you wish to drive. No, you can not bridge a mono amp because there is nothing to "bridge" to — whatever impedance load you present to amplifier is the actual load that it sees. This differs from a multichannel amp in that when you bridge two channels together, you halve the load presented to them (for example, 2 4-ohm woofers wired in parallel and bridged to a stereo amplifier is "seen" as a 1-ohm load to that amp).

Monoglycerides and diglycerides are common food additives used to blend together certain ingredients, such as oil and water, which would not otherwise blend well. Mono and di-glycerides are fatty substances that are used as emulsifiers. Emulsifiers are compounds used to keep oils or fats and water dispersed in one phase (i.e., they prevent oil and water from separating). Mono and di-glycerides can be derived from animal or vegetable sources. When derived from vegetable sources, they are halal. When derived from animal sources, they are questionable. More information is required to determine if they are halal.

The ".NET Initiative" is a somewhat nebulous company-wide effort by Microsoft, one part of which is a cross-platform development framework. Mono is an implementation of the development framework, but not an implementation of anything else related to the .NET Initiative, such as Passport or software-as-a-service.

A Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) virtual machine that contains a class loader, Just-in-time compiler, and a garbage collecting runtime. A class library that can work with any language which works on the CLR. Both .NET compatible class libraries as well as Mono-provided class libraries are included. A compiler for the C# language. In the future we might work on other compilers that target the Common Language Runtime.

Architecture port: this means porting the code generator used by the JIT to produce native code for a new CPU. Operating system port: this includes porting Mono's IO-Layer which copes with threading, file I/O and networking as well as porting the garbage collector and exception handling code, which tends to be operating system specific. Most Unix variants behave very similarly, so porting to a new Unix is relatively simple.

Yes, we believe that Mono 1.0 is ready to be used as the main development platform for building applications for the GNOME desktop. Mono includes Gtk# a .NET binding for GTK+ and various GNOME libraries which together with C# and the System libraries provide developers with great productivity for building graphical applications especially when compared to GTK+ or Java Swing. Although we had plan to support Bonobo, we have not yet done any work on this area and it is no longer a high priority.
