Bangs Ambulance is the designated Ambulance service provider for the City of Ithaca, and Tompkins County. The person should not leave you for long periods but popping upstairs or to another room for an aspirin would be ok. If you are alone and you have an aspirin next to you and you know that you are not allergic to it then chew it. Do not get up and wander around the house looking for an aspirin.

An air ambulance is a fixed-wing aircraft with built in stretcher system and fully equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical equipment and medical personnel to assist in the transport of an ill person from one city to another, regardless of distance.

The Department adopted the concept of Paramedic Engine Companies utilizing dual-trained personnel in fire suppression and EMS many years. The fire truck which arrives first on the emergency scene carries all necessary equipment to provide advanced life support until the arrival of an ambulance. This means it is no longer necessary to operate an ambulance from every fire station.

Yes. We are always glad to offer a medical unit and staff for event standby's. To help cover personnel and fuel costs, we sometimes charge a small fee. To inquire, contact Chief Laidlaw at (406)873-2722. While crews sent on standby details are assigned to that event, please keep in mind that providing 911 coverage to our community is top priority. If the call load is high, the crew on the event standby may be called away to respond to calls if all other units are already busy.

The Village of Hinsdale bills an "user fee" for ambulance service. There is no ambulance tax added to your yearly tax bill, but rather you are charged for the use of the ambulance when it is needed. See Section 4-1-9 of the Village Code for more information on fees.

The “engine” company arrives with the ambulance to help the paramedic crew move a patient outside of their residence and also assists with patient care inside the ambulance. The Lake Carmel Fire Department is a fully volunteer organization. You will NOT be billed by us. You will, however, be billed if a paid paramedic rides in the ambulance with you. In some cases, the paramedic is needed, in other less serious cases you may ask that they not come.

PCEMS works with a variety of other local agencies that provided medical first responders. These first responders are trained and equipped to deal with medical emergencies until EMS arrives. Each ambulance has the capacity to hold up to two patients lying supine (one on the cot; one on the bench). The best thing is to leave front of your hair out partially in the front then blend it into the wig so that your own hair line is shown. This can be done when your own hair and the wig hair color are blendable.
