honest answer is that there may have been as many different reasons for fighting this war as there were soldiers in the Confederate Army. The politically correct revisionist historians would like to state the Confederate soldiers were fighting to protect and preserve slavery. It seems an odd statement since less than 10% of those men were actual slave holders.

While technically true that the South did fire the first gunshots of the war, this resulted from intentional provocation on the part of the Lincoln administration. By the time Lincoln took office, secession was well under way. About 2,000 Confederates are buried in the Confederate Circle at Evergreen Cemetery. This plot is their third resting place. Z fighting is a graphical artifact which occurs when two more overlapping faces share similar values in the Z buffer, causing the faces to flicker randomly as the camera moves.This can happen if your application is using a 16-bit Z buffer.
