There is no structured debugger that works with CSPro. However, there are several techniques that can be used to find problems and solve them. One technique is to "comment out" code. By enclosing specific code between braces { }, you can isolate specific areas of code that may be the cause of your problem. Another technique is to use error messages, with the ERRMSG function. The generation of an error message tells you that program control has passed to that point in your application.

CSPro is a free software that is used for entering, editing and tabulating data from surveys and censuses. CSPro is based in two software packages: ISSA (developed by Serpro S.A. and ORC Macro international) and IMPS (developed by U.S. Census Bureau).

When Soupermail's not installing correctly, a good way to find out what's happening is to generate a Soupermail debug file. To do this, open the code for soupermail.pl and file the line setting $tempDir. Set this to somewhere appropriate on your server (ie, a real directory you can get to - /var/tmp/ is unlikely to be appropriate if you only have FTP access to your website). Make sure the place you set as $tempDir has write permissions for the webserver.
