There is no definite answer to this question. You will be selected only if/when an investigator who has a position available visits the database and is impressed with your credentials. On or about May 15, those who have not been selected will be informed via e-mail. Remember, there is no central selection committee for this program.

We have a rolling admissions policy; in other words, we review applications throughout the entire year. After we have received all of the necessary information, it takes about 4 weeks to hear back regarding acceptance.

During the application process, applicants will have an opportunity to answer job-related questions. Applicants will know immediately if they have been referred to the hiring department for evaluation. Hiring departments will contact applicants they wish to interview. Please understand that the review process takes time. You will be contacted if the department feels that an interview is necessary. You should hear your baby's heartbeat at the beginning of your third trimester. There are, however, mothers who have told us they heard them late in their second trimester.

The time between sending your application and the time we take to reply will depend on events taking place at the theatre and also the number of applications for a single placement. We will always acknowledge that we have received your application then once we have short listed for a certain placement we will write to all candidates to let them know whether they have been successful in getting an interview.

Hearing is a series of events in which the ear converts sound waves into electrical signals and causes nerve impulses to be sent to the brain where they are interpreted as sound. The ear has three main parts: the outer, middle, and inner ear. Sound waves enter through the outer ear and reach the middle ear, where they cause the ear drum to vibrate. The vibrations are transmitted through three tiny bones in the middle ear called the ossicles.

Normally you hear within a few weeks after filing your application. You will receive a letter from the Admission & Records office confirming your application was received and informing you what additional information they will need to process your application. You will be asked to submit a copy of your official high school transcript.

Decisions to extend callbacks to students are usually made within a week following the interview. Occasionally we will put students "on hold" if we are over-subscribed at a particular school.

You can expect to hear from us within three to six weeks. If you do not hear from us within that time, you can assume that we do not currently have an opening that fits your profile.

Depending upon the availability of a volunteer, an email confirming receipt of your application will be sent within 24 hours... and often sooner. We have a rolling admissions program. We send out our first acceptance letters for the incoming fall class in December of the prior year. If we receive your application after December 1, you'll hear from us within two to four weeks.

The IACUC posts the results of the meeting within 24 hours of a meeting on the web site and then produces its correspondence from the meetings. The goal for completion of all meeting correspondence is 10 business days. Correspondence pertaining to protocols that are "approved as submitted" are completed first and can be faxed upon request. All letters detailing reasons for deferral or stipulations are sent via e-mail to the principal investigator as soon as possible.

If you have completed all the required documents, such as the FAFSA form, the GIA Financial Aid Application, and any other requested documents, you should receive a Preliminary Eligibility Letter within six to eight weeks. This letter will outline your estimated financial aid eligibility should you choose to attend GIA.
