Some name brands you will have never heard of simply because they are not sold in North America. some others may be direct from the manufacturer, before a company such as Sony (believe it or not they do not manufacturer all their products themselves) slaps their logos on them. If you know your electronics well, you will definitely recognize some models which are sold in the states minus the logo. Personally I do not suggest going with brand names common in N.
