How does the T3's screen compare to the Zire71 screen in terms of brightness, contrast and clarity?

src Forums - Palm Tungsten T3 Frequently Asked Questions (FA...
I think they are about the same, at least when I put my T3 side-by-side with my partner's Z71, they look the same to me. I just got a chance to compare all current palm pda screens at officedepot. The Zire71 and TE look like they have the same screen. The T3's screen is a bit dull compared to those 2 - at 100% T3 looks like the TE around 60-70% brightness. The T3 is slightly brighter than my NX70V. I just got a chance to compare all current palm pda screens at officedepot.

What is the difference between color and brightness contrast?

SBFAQ Part 1: Basic Terms and Definitions
One important distinction between sets of colors is whether they create brightness (achromatic) or color (chromatic) contrast. Both kinds of contrast make objects stand out from their backgrounds. However, there are significant differences in the properties of color and brightness contrast. A designer who understands these fundamental differences will find him/herself able to use color much more effectively.

What is brightness?

Gamma FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Gamma
In a grayscale image, each pixel value represents what is loosely called brightness. However, brightness is defined formally as the attribute of a visual sensation according to which an area appears to emit more or less light. This definition is obviously subjective, so brightness is an inappropriate description of, or metric for, image data. Grayscale image data is normally based upon luminance. Color image data is normally based upon tristimulus values.

This is caused by its automatic lighting selection, and this can be confusing in combination with the low frame rates of The vOICe Learning Edition. It can also affect proper color identification (Say color option). You can easily fix the problem by going to the Edit | Audio/Video Preferences | Video Source | Advanced menu, to uncheck Automatic Lighting.

How does the brightness of polished rhodium compare to silver?

artisan plating.com - electroplating, gold, platinum, pallad...
One of the minor cosmetic trade-offs for plating rhodium onto silver is that the rhodium finish will not be as bright or reflective as the original silver finish. Rhodium reflects about 72%-80% of the light rays that strike it. Silver reflects up to 95% of all incidental light that strikes it. However, over the long term rhodium will stay "brighter" than silver because of its superior resistance to tarnishing and scratching.

why does my backlight not work on the screen even though i have the brightness all the way up?

Clie PEG-UX50 FAQ
I haven't tried this, but the easiest way that I can think of is to hard reset the device, choose "no" to restoring the back-up, then just immediately creating a new back-up of the currently empty UX (preferences/powersaving). This should replace the old back-up file with a new back-up file that has no information in it. If you go into the advanced mode in the built-in powersave utility you can go into the menus and choose the option to erase the backup currently in the backup flash.

How does JMA compare to Kalman, Kaufmann, Vidya, T3, and other filters ?

FAQs on Jurik's JMA
The Kalman filter is similar to JMA in that both are powerful algorithms used for estimating the behavior of a noisy dynamical system when all you have to work with is noisy data measurements. The Kalman filter creates smooth forecasts of the time series, and this method is not entirely appropriate for financial time series as the markets are prone to produce violent gyrations and price gaps, behaviors not typical of smoothly operating dynamical systems.

Cassini-Huygens: FAQ
The camera measures light from an object at each point in an image and assigns it a number from zero to 4095 depending on its brightness. The camera has the ability to convert this range of values to those from zero to 255. The camera does this according to a preset table of values designed by the scientists.
