Yes. From your computer go to the library's home page, On the left sidebar there are two links to connect to the Electronic Journals and Databases. Choose Connect from Off Campus. You will see a listing of the databases. When you click on your choice you will see a page asking for your Borrower ID. Please enter your 14 digit library barcode that should be on the back of your FSC ID card. The database page you chose should come up.

All of COM Library's online resources can be accessed remotely from any location from which you have Internet access. To access the databases remotely, go to COM Library's Databases page and click on any database. If the database has the symbol, you will have to login using your library patron # and last name.

You can access most of the library's research databases from off campus. On the Search for Articles page, databases with a key icon can be accessed from off campus. From the library's web site, click on the database and you will be directed to a login page where you will enter your student ID number (SID) and last name.

Only registered students, faculty, and staff of BHSU are allowed to access databases using off-campus computers or dorm computers. When prompted, please enter your BHSU e-mail address as your username and type in the password that you use to login to a BHSU computer or to access your BHSU e-mail. The CVTC library subscribes to online databases that, by contract, are restricted to use by current students, faculty and staff at CVTC. Access to the library's online databases while at home or from other off campus locations is now available via the CVTC proxy server. A proxy server is a special type of server that allows off campus access to subscription library databases.

this time, the authentication server is used only for providing off-campus access to online resources (databases, electronic journals, e-books) subscribed by the ACC libraries. Almost all online library resources are made accessible to off-campus users this way. There are a few online resources that have special restrictions imposed by the vendor limiting their use to a particular building or to a particular department. Off-campus users will not have access to these resources.

The first thing you may want to do is to select another database to search. Sometimes the server for a particular database is down, but others are working. Sometimes MCC's server is down, and you may just need to try to log in at a later time during the day. We use a technique known as IP (internet protocol) address recognition to control access to our proprietary databases. Only computers within a specific range of addresses assigned to our organization can successfully access the databases. All computers on campus that are connected to the PhilaU network will be able to connect to the databases.

CNU students, staff and faculty may access the Library's resources off campus but first, users must have a barcode on the back of their CNU I.D. Many electronic journals and databases are licensed by the University Library, and only UCSC students, faculty, and staff are allowed to access them from off-campus. Anyone can access the resources in the library buildings. There are three ways to connect to these resources: Use on-campus computers. All campus buildings including the libraries, offices, classrooms, dorms, and ResNet have full access to licensed online resources.

The Library's catalog, WEBCATalog, is available via the Internet so you can access it from home if you have an account with an ISP (see the Library's Internet Reference web page for a listing of free ISPs).
