Early each spring, the Meritas Family of Schools designates two weeks as Interim Term. This is an opportunity to study a subject intensively, often using interdisciplinary methods and traveling to locations pertinent to the subject. Some of these offerings involve field trips in the area, but many involve significant travel - both within the USA and internationally. The Village Upper School will inaugurate its Interim Term in the 2008/2009 school year for the Upper School.

The unique Interim term at BSC is where students concentrate on one area of interest from Birmingham to Zimbabwe. If a student is unable to complete a project during the Interim term, he or she may contract an Interim project during the summer term. When the Coroner is given a cause of death by the doctor, the doctor and the coroner will notify the Registrar of the death. This will happen normally within 24hrs. You may then arrange to visit the Registrar and register the death. You must do this in person. If the Coroner has decided to hold a post-mortem and when he receives the report does not require an inquest to be held he will send a certificate to the Registrar to register the death.
