Frequently Asked Questions

Can matrix data (e.g., correlations or covariances) instead of raw data be used for input?

FAQ 5
Yes, STATISTICA supports a variety of matrix-file types as input data (e.g., for Regression, Factor Analysis, Reliability, and other modules). Matrix files can be edited in the spreadsheet (as if they were raw data files), however, in order to be properly interpreted as matrices by the program, they need to meet specific content and format conditions (depending on the matrix type).

ARE THERE CORRELATIONS WITH OTHER DISEASES?

QTsyndrome.ch - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Recent research suggests that a prolonged QT-interval could be an important cause for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Mutations in the KCNJ2 gene are associated with Andersen syndrome (AS). AS is a rare, inherited disorder characterized by periodic paralysis, skeletal developmental abnormalities and a prolonged QT-interval (see point 2) with ventricular arrhythmias. Because of the prolongation of the QT-interval, AS is considered a subtype of long QT syndrome.

If I have some PVT data available, how are these data combined with the correlations?

SubPUMP® - FAQs
The PVT data entered in the fluid properties are used in SubPUMP to adjust the values calculated using the PVT correlations. Heat rise information is available for Reda motors only. Heat rise calculations include well fluid temperature, skin temperature, average winding temperature and total winding temperature.
Related Questions

Can I open more than one input data file simultaneously?

FAQ 5
Different data files can be used simultaneously for input in different modules (as mentioned before, different modules can process the same or different data files). From the File Manager, data files may be opened directly (into the STATISTICA File Server application, see below) by double-clicking on them. Each data file will be opened into a separate File Server application window (see the next topic); in this manner, you may simultaneously open as many data files as you wish.

QUESTION: What data type should be used for my input parameters?

Frequently Asked Questions - Generalized Interface
ANSWER: All input parameters must be sent in as the string data type. Using any other data type, even for numbers, will result in lost data and erratic behavior. ANSWER: There are many factors that affect the amount of time it will take for an application to move from the Development Environment to being available in Production. Generally the process should take between three to 10 business days.

No, once someone receives a User ID to access any one of the assessment subsystems, that person can access all the subsystems if the designated Coordinator for his PHA assigns him rights to the other subsystems.

Can I select the whole matrix of data I require?

FAQ
Yes. You may check in the box of the desired matrix and add to your shopping cart. All the series in the matrix would then be selected.

How do I used the shared drives to share data instead of attaching files to emails?

Lee University
Using shared drives to transfer data within a department or within the campus is a better way than via email in some cases. If the file is larger that 2 MB, the file should be transferred via shared drive. In the screen shot above, the file (Doc1.txt) is being dragged from My Documents to the T:\. There are other ways to get files to a common location.

How can I make a Bitmap from a raw pixel data?

AtheOS - Frequently Asked Questions
You can obtain a pointer to the raster-memory by calling the os::Bitmap::LockRaster() member. You can then copy the pixel data directly to that buffer. You might have to write your own copy routine if the bitmap data doesn't have the same "pitch" (bytes per row) as the bitmap.
Related Questions

How do you copy raw data into the Bitmap class?

AtheOS - Frequently Asked Questions
The raster-buffer is located in memory that is shared between the appserver and the application, so the application cannot change the raster-pointer. It is legal to write to the pointer returned by os::Bitmap::LockRaster() so you can copy your bitmap-data into the bitmap (see previous answer). Remember to set the os::Bitmap::SHARE_FRAMEBUFFER flag when constructing the bitmap or else os::Bitmap::LockRaster() will always return a NULL pointer.

What are XY correlations?

Explore XY
Explorations are primarily driven by XY correlations. X and Y are two entities between which you're attempting to discover a correlation. The designation of a correlation entity (i.e., whether or not it's under X or Y) doesn't affect the ultimate exploration report; they're interchangeable. No more than two "X" terms are processed, while the number of terms on the "Y" side is open. However, to minimize processing time, we strongly suggest you enter no more than four terms into the "Y" side.
