Providers are required to submit to TDLR your continuing education course completion information. Continuing education became mandatory January 1, 1995. Every year, dentists must complete 15 hours and hygienists must complete 6 hours. In addition, every licensee is required to maintain current CPR certification. Courses which are not approved by TDLR as continuing education courses can not be used for license renewal. If the college course is a TDLR approved continuing education course, then the course hours can be used for license renewal. No, a licensee shall be exempt from continuing education requirements for the first annual renewal following the date of initial licensure. All Florida appraisers must complete 30 hours of continuing education for each two-year license, registration, or certification period. That depends upon how long your license has been inactive.
