Test scores are not part of the IMSA transcript. However, if you had scores reported to us we probably have them on file. You may request them using the form (PDF, 28K) from the Registrar or in writing with mailing information, signature release and payment. There is a $5 charge for all test scores.

An original score report must be received from the testing agency by the Office of Admissions, at Box 114000, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611-4000. If you have sent the scores to us, please contact 201 Criser, 392-1365 to inquire about them.

That is entirely up to the student, depending upon his or her educational goals. The college career and advising center will be an excellent resource as will GMCHS teachers. Middle College students take all required state and district tests including Program Assessments and STAR9 and CAT6 tests. (We are proud to note that the API for GMCHS was the highest in the district last year!).

We do require an ACT or SAT score before a student can be admitted to the Academy program. If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, we will accept the PSAT or PLAN tests.

We don't recommend one test (SAT or ACT) over the other. Both tests are acceptable for purposes of the CTY Talent Search in that both tests measure learned abilities. The scores needed on either the SAT or ACT to qualify for Summer Programs or Distance Education have been set such that neither test provides an advantage or disadvantage.

Students are not required to take the ACT or SAT, however if they have not taken either one within two years of applying for admission they will be required to take the COMPASS test. These scores are used to place students in math and English courses. The COMPASS test is administered on campus for a cost of $10. Not every student should take the ACT or the SAT, but these tests have a long track record as good measures of academic talent. MATS uses these challenging tests because they are often more appropriate for academically talented students than standardized tests designed for their age group. In fact, between a quarter and a third of these students score as well as or better than the average college-bound high school senior.

We only accept the standardized test scores that apply to college admissions - specifically, the ACT, SAT, PSAT or PLAN. Admission requirements to the Academy are the same for Columbus and the Regional campuses. All students, regardless of campus of enrollment, must meet the admissions requirements. Admission to the Academy does not guarantee admission to Ohio State after high school graduation.

With the new SAT making its debut in Spring 2005, students who've been out of school for even a year may find their scores outdated. Luckily, many undergraduate institutions do not require adult learners to report SAT scores, so you can avoid another Saturday morning in a sweaty high school gym. However, most professional degrees do require the corresponding standardized test (like the GRE or GMAT), so if you haven't taken those, do so.

Our Student Records Department has PSAT, SAT and ACT test scores on the transcripts for some students, but only if the student provided us with his/her correct social security number and put the correct social security number on the test at the time the test was taken. Test scores are posted from a data file purchased from the testing company, so we can't be certain that all information is provided. We are under no requirement to maintain these scores, but do so as a convenience to the students.

A copy of your score report will be sent to you and the schools you list on your registration form. That might include your high school, if you list its code number, and several colleges or universities. Part of the fee for students taking the test is the cost of sending your score report to colleges, universities, and/or scholarship programs that you designate. In other words, the colleges you list on your registration form will automatically be sent your scores.

The chapters will take into account a participant's SAT/ACT scores along with her high school/college grades. If a Potential New Member's scores/grades are low, the chapters will have concern for the possibility of the Potential New Member experiencing difficulty in managing the time commitment required for New Member Education and a busy school schedule.

Yes, an AP score of 3, 4, or 5 on the "English: Language and Composition" or any Calculus test earns UO credit and counts toward the transfer admission requirements.

CTD does not recommend one test over the other, since research has shown that the majority of students have comparable scores on the two tests. Students can qualify for any of CTD's educational programs, the CTD Award Ceremony and other special programs for gifted students with either SAT or ACT scores.

Yes. Standardized test scores are an important part of your application for admission, but they are only one part of your application. Each major has established requirements. For example, the School of Business and Engineering place more of an emphasis on the math SAT than most of the majors in the School of Arts and Sciences. It is always a good idea to prepare for standardized tests. Before deciding what type of preparation is best, students should do some self-examination. Some self-directed students do very well by buying a book of practice tests and taking them on their own. Other students need the enforced discipline of attending a class. While it has been proven that preparation and familiarity with standardized tests do improve students' scores, one method of preparation is not necessarily better than another.

It is the student's responsibility to release test scores to colleges during the application process. To officially release SAT scores, you must call the College Board and request your scores to be sent to the colleges you indicate. You have the option of using an automated phone service (800-728-7267) or connecting with an operator (609-771-7600). You will need a credit card number and the college code numbers (which are found in the SAT I/II Registration Bulletin).
