Answer: Unfortunately, daily we were swamped with dozens of pornographic posts to the guestbook. As much as Vikings seemed to enjoy having a place to exchange greetings, it became impossible to have both an open guestbook and a family-friendly one at the same time. We are investigating a secure guest registry that will allow you to sign in once again while keeping the riff-raff out. We hope to resume this popular page again very soon. Incyanity does not have a guestbook (*sob*). I used to, but spam got the better of it so I don't really want to go there again. Still, I'm always interested in hearing from visitors, especially if you encounter any problems, see anything wonky while navigating, or think of a suggestion. Prior versions of the OSAC web site (before January 2005) had a JavaScript news ticker available; however, that news ticker has been disabled because of compatibility issues with the new web site. The good news is that the OSAC system administrators are looking into a solution and expect the news ticker to be available in future versions. We'll keep you posted on the progress.

Our seating arrangement is such that you will have your own permanent desk with a direct phone extension, computer and a place to hang your family pictures, but you will share a cubicle with an experienced staff person that you can bounce questions off of when the need arises.

The reason that we deleted the temperature was due to the significant variations in temperature that often occur around the state. As you know, the difference in the shoreline and inland temperatures can vary by as much as 10 degrees. Therefore, if we posted the New Haven temperature and you live in Litchfield, it could often be wrong. Thus, we decided to remove it all together and hope that you'll wait for the weather segment.

Our news feed provider is working on that problem right now, and it should be fixed shortly. We're all getting a little tired of that headline. My wife and I both have earthlink email accounts; hers has a problem. Her account is (deleted)@earthlink.net. She can sign in this way and view messages, but when she signs in, it shows her user name as "Hello, Mr. Song Li le" Obviously this is not her. And when she forwards messages from that account, it also shows up as coming from Mr. Song Li Le.

I do a lot of traveling and visit libraries all over the country. What would make the visits more enjoyable would be if ALA would institute a National Library Card that I could use at any and all of them. I just finished reading a book on your banned books list. I would like to find a summary of the reasons why this book was challenged.
