Your detective skills are as good as mine. In the offline world, head on over to local record store, flip the band's latest release over and see what label is given. Online, try looking up the band's latest release at CDNow (the label is usually listed), or check the Ultimate Band List (which isn't so ultimate by my standards) to see if they have a web site. Iain's Answer: There are a lot of factors here. Do you use the same guitars/bass? Same strings? Same amps? Same drums? etc Even with exactly the same kit, you will not sound exactly like them because you are playing the instruments, but if your kit is similar then we can usually get pretty close. Realize that if you play me a CD of what you are after it helps me because it is difficult to describe music.

The goal of classical technique is to find the most true, free and resonant tone of which the particular voice is capable, and a tone that will carry over an orchestra without additional amplification.
