Yes, there are opportunities for undergraduates to engage in research projects under the guidance of mathematics faculty. All Computer Science students are required to conduct Final Year Projects during the last 2-3 semesters of their study. They may work individually or in groups of 2-4 under faculty supervision. Students may select from a variety of projects that emphasize design, application, or research. Besides delivery of programming code, students are required to submit a proposal, progress report, and a detailed final report, as well as to give a presentation at the end.

Although undergraduate research is not a requirement for a degree in chemistry at Carnegie Mellon, every chemistry major has the opportunity to join a professor's research group for pay or credit as part of their undergraduate education. The Music Engineering (MUE) Graduate program does not have your "conventional" research-for-funding that other engineering graduate schools might have. This is mostly because we want your thesis and research to be completely up to you, and not dictated by some company that is funding you. We do not have a scholarship program for college students. We only have the National Peace Essay Contest, which awards college scholarships to high school students. However, the Institute has a Fellowship program which enables outstanding scholars, policymakers, journalists, and other professionals from around the world to conduct research at the Institute.. A variety of research is available at the Oakland campus. Each resident can spend four weeks each year on pursuing this interest. Residents complete a research project/case report or other scholarly project. These projects include case reports as well as research with other residents and faculty investigators. In recognition of the importance of research in medicine, categorical residents are encouraged to participate in a research project of their choice during the three-year training cycle. While in the program, residents gain a better understanding of research methodology and enhance their ability to critically analyze medical literature. Residents attend lectures regarding medical epidemiology/biostatics and are given a research manual that guides them through the various stages of research.

The Adult High School has a modern computer lab where students work on class assignments, access the Internet, and practice for the HSCT, SAT, and ACT. Graduating students may elect to participate in the Adult High School graduation ceremony held every spring at Seminole Community College.

Children in the Infants and Junior School begin team games and may represent the school in competition with other non-government schools in Years 3 to 6. In the Middle School and Senior School, there is an active, weekly inter-school competition. There are also annual swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals from which students may be selected to represent at higher levels of competition. Several Macarthur students have progressed to State and National levels of competition.

Though based in the Biology Department in the School of Arts and Sciences, the Biology Graduate Group is comprised of faculty from other departments and affiliated academic institutions, such as the Medical School, Wistar Institute, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Academy of Natural Sciences. Thus, the students have a wide range of research opportunities within the program. Research is started early, in the first year.

NHS just completed construction of its own state-of-the-art Discovery Center, which provides undergraduate students many opportunities to work with current faculty.
