The Global ID uniquely identifies you as a CMU student or faculty/staff member. The Global ID is used to authenticate with many different systems including email and the CMU Portal. The Global ID is typically the first five letters of your last name, a number, your first and then your middle initial.

A Global ID is a 9 digit numeric identifier assigned by your company. This number is used to identify you in the Smith Barney stock plan system. To obtain your Global Identification number you should contact your company. In the event the site is unavailable during scheduled hours of operation, a message will be displayed informing you of the outage.
