Library reserve staff needs a clean 8 1/2 x 11 photocopy of the material the first time it is used. The library can do photocopying but charges .10 per page. Materials being submitted for electronic reserve must be accompanied by a signed request form with complete bibliographic citations for each item being posted. The form can be downloaded by going here. Once material has been scanned the material is archived.

Library staff will attempt to obtain copyright permission on any material submitted. Materials will not be posted to electronic reserve unless they comply with copyright law. The general rules for copyright permission are as follows. Fair use allows a one time posting of materials as long as they comprise less than 10% of an entire work, one article from an issue of a journal, or 1 poem under 250 words.

Articles, book chapters, lecture notes, exams, reserves lists, and other select photocopied items are processed as electronic reserves. To access electronic reserves, search the UIUC Online Library Catalog. Click on Course Reserves. Select course number or instructor name from appropriate drop box. Click on desired record from the list. Click E-Items link on the item record. Click link of desired title. Click View the Reserve Item. The .pdf version will open.

Instructors are given the username and password each term. Students may also obtain it by contacting staff at the Knight Library Reserves and Video Desk (541.346-3067). You may submit Reserve Request Lists using the On-line Reserve Request Form or a paper copy of this form available at all Reserve Desks. There are a few individual study rooms on the second floor of the library (Accokeek Hall). They are available on a first come, first served basis. Group study facilities are available but there are areas in the library that may facilitate a quiet discussion. The online databases and e-books are governed by licensed agreements that limit use to Prince George's Community College students, faculty, staff, and on-site users of Prince George's Community College Library.

Interlibrary Loan requests may be submitted by current employees of the NCI-Frederick ONLY. Requests are usually filled within 7 to 10 business days.

Electronic reserve materials will take 2 business days to process. During the first three weeks of the fall and spring semesters, we receive the most requests, so processing time for materials increases to 5 business days. Please submit all requests as early as possible.

Researching your project should begin as soon as possible. Materials not available at the library are often obtainable through Interlibrary Loan. However, the time it takes to receive material through this system may vary from two to five weeks. If most of your research will involve material not in the Bard collection, you should plan to spend time at another library facility. A letter of introduction should be requested from the Stevenson Library for research purposes at other libraries.

Printing .pdf files (the format used by Electronic Reserves) can be a slow process, especially when accessing files over a modem. When you print .pdf files, we recommend reducing the printer resolution to 150 dpi on the pop-up Printer menu (if this option is available to you). This will speed the printing process and still yield legible articles.

To access Electronic Reserve materials, click on "Electronic Reserve" which is located as the second item in the left column on the Library homepage. Click on RESERVE READINGS from column on the left. Click on third tab, Course Reserve Pages by Instructor. Select your instructor from the drop down menu and click the View button. Click on the Course Number, and enter the course password that your instructor gave to you. Read the copyright notice and click Accept.

A large collection videocassettes is maintained to support basic sciences and clinical curriculum. Equipment for the use of these materials in the library is available in the group study rooms. The library also has a small, but growing collection of interactive videodiscs and CD-ROMs on such topics as anatomy, histology, physiology, and pharmaceutics. Ask a librarian about the appropriateness of your use of these materials and their location.

Yes. Materials that are not available in the library may be obtained through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). ILL forms are available on the library Web page at http://ucl.broward.edu/ill.htm in Room 163, and at the Circulation Desk. It does take time to obtain materials from other libraries.

For items with a 24-hour or a 3-day loan period, the answer is obviously yes. Two-hour and four-hour items must be used in the library. The only exception made is for the instructor who placed the item on reserve.

The materials will be available from the Circulation Desk at Green Library during the hours the desk is open. Each reserve item is available for a 2-hour period, and cannot be taken out from the library. Reserve materials must be requested directly via the call number. For books, the call number can be found by looking the book up in Socrates, Stanford's on-line library catalog. Alternatively, items can be found via the reserves catalog.

Reserve materials are kept behind the Reference/Circulation Desk. You may use these materials for up to 3 hours within the Library and you must have your current BRCC student ID to check them out.

Yes. The Library has a few maps including digitized topographic maps by Topo!, National Geographic, and DeLorme. The Library has some digital data produced by the Federal Government for maps including the Digital Line Graphs (DLGs), Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles (DOQs), Digital Raster Graphs (DRGs), TIGER files.

Through the Texas State Library and Central Texas Library System, the library can access many databases that can help patrons with their personal, academic and professional research.

Reserve materials are books, journal articles, book chapters, or audiovisual items an instructor places on reserve to supplement assigned coursework. The loan period for reserve items, which is typically 2 hours, is restricted according to the instructor's preference to ensure availability.

Material can be submitted at any time. The earlier material is submitted, the better in case any items require seeking copyright permission.

There are three methods of searching for reserve materials. If you know the name of the instructor, enter his or her name and click on "Instructor." If you have the name of the course, e.g. Engl 1001, enter this course abbreviation and number and click on "Course ID." If you know the name of the course, e.g. ID 1051 is "Introduction to Interior Design," enter the course's title and then click on "Course Name.

Yes, when you enter the system you will be prompted to enter your University Internet ID (also referred to e-mail username) and password. This is the same information that you're required to enter for logging into library databases and numerous other systems on campus. If you don't know your Internet ID, look your name up in the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Student / Staff Directory and look for the line "Internet ID.

Currently-enrolled OWC students must present their student ID card, called "Raider Card," whenever they check out library material.

If material is already in electronic format, for example, an article found in an Oboler Library database as full text - include the complete URL/web address on the Electronic Course Reserve Request Form. Bring the completed form to the Reserve/Circulation Desk at the Oboler Library or Library at Idaho State University-Idaho Falls for IF reserves. Provide a persistent link to the material if available.

If there is more than one Course Reserve item for that professor or course there will be multiple titles listed. Click on the appropriate title and the Full Record will display. Electronic Course Reserve items will have Ereserve as the call number. Type in the password (provided to you by Library staff when the E-Reserve request was initially processed) when prompted Yes. The form must be filled out completely and brought in with the material you wish to put on electronic reserve.

Shortly after leaving the White House, Jimmy Carter donated to the U.S. Government all of his Presidential historical materials including the files of his White House staff. The library has added, and continues to acquire, important additional collections to supplement and enhance these core research holdings. U.S. government domestic and foreign policies and national political affairs in the last half of the 1970s are the primary topics of library collections.

The Library contains 13,000+ volumes of fiction, non-fiction, large print, reference and children's books. The Library also has books and CDs on tape, informational videocassettes and DVDs and nearly 100 subscriptions to a variety of magazines. The Library also receives the Bismarck Tribune, Dickinson Press, Nation's Center News, Adams County Record and Bowman County Pioneer.

Yes. The Library collects video, CD, DVD, records, cassettes and other non-print media. DADABASE is searchable by medium. Ask staff for assistance.
