California sea lions have been known to dive 1000 feet deep; however, most dives are less than 100 feet. Most often California sea lions swim a few miles per hour underwater. They can swim 25 mph in short bursts by “porpoising” or leaping out of the water to increase speed.

That depends on the size of the penguin. The larger species such as the Emperors and Kings can get up to a maximum of 9mph but usually swim at a more leisurely 7mph. Campers have to pass a deep end test before being allowed to swim in the deep end of the big pool. Once they pass this test they will be given a bracelet to wear for the duration of their time at camp indicating they are allowed in the deep end. You can purchase a steamer from a home improvement store or grocery. They generally come with several attachments that can be used thru-out your home and vehicle. The machine will shoot hot steam through the foam/batting of the furniture. You can also use it to steam around doors and windows and floors. If you use DE, please do not use the steamer. You can visit the island via the Ferry on Saturday or take a day trip with one of the local tour operators. Whatever your choice, don't miss Direction Island. Also Prison Island is another popular area to swim as is many of the channels between the more remote islands.

Yes to lagoon, No to swimming pool. Most people getting an average-sized tattoo will have no problem going in the lagoon. In fact, ancient Tahitians used to go into the lagoon immediately after receiving a tattoo in order to speed healing. I do however recommend you use a healing ointment such as tamanu oil, A&D or Biafine and rinse with fresh water after swimming. If you plan on getting a very large tattoo, I would advise staying out of the water 2-3 days.
