The Disk Management window appears. Your disks and volumes appear in a graphical view and list view. To customize how you view your disks and volumes in the upper and lower panes of the window, point to Top or Bottom on the View menu, and then click the view that you want to use.

All of our cases will take either a standard 3.5" or notebook 2.5" hard drive. See the Case Matrix to determine which cases require a specific size HDD.

Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. Click Disk Management in the left menu under Storage. The new drive will appear as Unallocated in the display window on the right. Right-click the Unallocated drive and select 'New Partition' to start the New Partition Wizard. If the drive is already formatted, you will first need to click on 'Delete Parition.

A df -v command will give you a table showing the filesystem name, size of a partition, amount used, amount free, and percentage used. The UNIX command gives you the results in blocks and not megabytes typically reported in Microsoft operating systems. The operating system is typically setup so that one block equal 512K or .5 meg. So if you divide the blocks by 512 you should be able to convert the output to megabytes. Below is a sample of a df -v command

Based on currently available hard drives, FileZerver can support approx. 1.1 TB of SCSI storage space and approx. 3000gb of EIDE storage space on the SCSI/IDE model. The IDE only model will currently support approx. 900GB. As hard drive sizes increase FileZerver will continue to grow and support these larger sizes.

For starters the media and filing system being used must be considered. If you are using an IDE drive under ADFS then you usually should have your drive formatted as one whole partition due to ADFS' inability to support multiple partitions. (Although third party extensions, like Alsystems PowerIDE software, can extend the default IDE interface to include partioning.

Windows: By default, the preferences are stored in HKCU/Software/BitWise Chat/BitWise. Optionally, you may store the preferences in BitWise.ini in your home folder by pressing "Setup" prior to logging in and specifying you wish to store your preferences in that file rather than the registry. Detached mode allows you to use basic client features even when your computer cannot maintain communication with the BitWise server.

Both Netscape and Microsoft have measures in place that limit the number of cookies that will be saved on your hard drive at one time. Both Internet Explorer and Netscape conform to the RFC 2109 limitations on your total cookie count to 300 (this includes a limit of 20 cookies per individual domain). If you exceed this, the browser will discard your least-used cookies to make room for the new ones.

After a cookie is transmitted through an HTTP header, it is stored in the memory of your browser. This way the information is quickly and readily available without re-transmission. As we have seen, however, it is possible for the lifetime of a cookie to greatly exceed the amount of time the browser will be open. In such cases, the browser must have a way of saving the cookie when you are not browsing, or when your computer is shut off.

Check question number 6 about startup disks; most people need these because of hard disk problems. Apple provides an "erase disk" option on their main menu which will re-initialize some but not all hard drives. Apple also has a "disk test" utility to test formatted disks. There is also a popular control panel add on for "SCSI probe" which is helpful, check various Mac shareware sites for it.

Each person who has logged into the computer will have his or her files and settings stored in a folder named with his or her user name. Only the person who is logged in (or an Administrator) can access his or her personal folder. To find these user folders: The My Documents folder is located within this user folder (Note: The My Documents icon on your desktop is a shortcut to this folder). Files that were saved to the desktop are located in the Desktop folder.

Ans: The problem here is that the drive has not been "initialized" or formatted yet. When you install a brand new HD into WinXP/Win2K, it gets detected in your system by the installation wizard and its drivers are installed. Normally you know this because it will inform you that a new drive has been installed and will ask you to reboot. However, upon rebooting you might not see a new drive show up in Windows Explorer.

Most external drives you purchase are formatted for PCs. If you are only going to use it with your Mac then you should reformat the drive by using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". If you are gong to use it with your Mac and a PC then use "MS-DOS file system" format. To format or reformat a drive you will have to erase it. So before you erase the drive, copy your files to another drive.

Some files on the Mac contain supplemental information that is associated with the file. While the Mac can keep these associations intact, other operating systems (such as Windows) cannot since they are not built to understand such supplemental information.

We would suggest taking your measurements and looking at our bra fit sizing chart as well as measuring yourself using the following formula: Measure around the chest directly under the breast at a constant height with the cloth measuring tape. Add 5 inches to that measurement. This dimension is your bra/band size (If the bra size works out to an ODD number go up one inch to the next EVEN number.) This should equal the circumference around the chest, directly above the breasts/under the arms.

Most of our clothing runs true to size. We recommend that you order the size you generally wear. Some exceptions are: OMgirl clothing is true to size, but does contour to your body, so some might think that it runs small because the style on most of the shirts and pants is fitted to show off your Yoga body. Hemp clothing runs very true to size, but may seem slightly small when you first try it on, however this clothing gets larger with age.

Windows 98SE requires additional drivers if you are running the drive through the USB connection. Download the drivers from or alternatively you can find them on the CD supplied with the product: Microsoft has provided the "Storage Supplement Update" on "Windows Update" website, This patch file can let IEEE 1394 devices work more stable and can be removed safely from the Windows 98SE system.

The first time you attempt to play the 1000k file from your hard drive you will be prompted for your username and password information and you will be issued a license. You will need to be connected to the Internet to get the license. After you acquire your initial license, you will have permanent access to the file and should only be required to re-verify your license twice per year. See answer #3 for more details. Enter your username and password when prompted and click Play.

Reader: I recently purchased a second-hand PC which came with no software. Before and after I installed my copy of Windows 95 from my previous PC onto this computer, the BIOS setup confirmed that the hard drive has a 3.1GB storage capacity. Computer Doctor: Windows 95 and Windows 95a have a 2.1GB limit per drive letter. If you want to use the rest of the drive's capacity, you need to run Fdisk and create an extended partition and set up a logical drive D: inside the extended partition.

Serial numbers and activation keys are tied to a particular computer during activation. If you have to do either of these, it is likely that eBahn will not recognize your computer as the 'same' computer. Before doing these types of things to your computer, please first deactivate your serial number through the eBahn License Manager. We currently allow up to 5 transfers per calendar year. Every January 1, the number of transfers you are able to do resets to 5.

Microsoft does not provide installation/driver support for SATA hard drives in Windows XP. However, there are workarounds for Windows installs. The first two methods assume you have either a spare floppy or IDE drive to use temporarily. If this is not possible, you'll need to slipstream the drivers (see below). Copy the SATA drivers to a floppy disk (these can usually be found on your mainboard support disk. Usually these consist of PIDE/SATA Folders and TXTsetup.oem files.

Microsoft recommends a minimum 40 GB hard disk that has 15 GB of free space. NJIT strongly recommends a minimum 80GB Serial ATA hard disk with 20 GB of free space. Note that the different versions of Windows Vista have different requirements. When NJIT releases and begins support of Windows Vista, it will be only for Windows Vista Business edition.

Depending on the version of Windows 2000 you are installing (professional, server, advanced server, etc.,) you should expect a "fresh" installation to take up about 650-950Mb of hard drive space depending on how many options you have chosen, and what file system you are using. You will also need to leave room for your paging files, memory dumps, space for your registry to grow, service packs, anti-virus definitions, event logs, and enough free space to permit disk defragmentation.

You can reduce the size of the image files by scanning at a lower resolution or saving the images in JPEG (compressed) format. However, in both cases, you sacrifice image quality for greater compression (smaller file size).

The capacity of a hard drive will appear slightly less in Windows and Mac operating systems than the capacity stated by the hard drive's manufacturer. This is not only the case for AcomData drives but is typical in the data storage industry. The difference is mostly due to the way Windows and Mac operating systems typically measure data storage, as compared to the method used by hard drive manufacturers.
