For international students this test is not necessary for admission to Hope College. However, it is strongly recommended for scholarship purposes.

All freshmen applicants are required to take either the College Board's Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or the ACT by November 2007. There is no minimum SAT or ACT score required for admission. Freshman applicants are ranked using the CSU eligibility index which combines the grade point average and SAT/ACT test scores. For fall 2007, the average SAT score of admitted freshmen who met the selective criteria was 1,128; the average ACT composite score was 24.

Houghton looks at a student's entire academic record, including the high school transcript, standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) and recommendations. Our average SAT for the fall 2004 incoming class was 1173 (25.8 ACT); our middle 50% was 1070-1280 (23-29 on the ACT).

If your cumulative grade point average reported on the general UC application was a 3.5 or above, but your SAT score was below 2100, you can still apply to the UHP. Your application will be considered by the UHP Admission Committee. If there is any chance that UCR will become your first choice, you should apply to the University Honors Program. The Department of Radiologic Sciences does not have a minimum ACT requirement for application to or acceptance in the program; the ACT is simply one of several factors in the decision-making process. No, you do not have to be full-time to receive HOPE. HOPE pays for tuition and mandatory fees regardless of how many hours you are enrolled. High-school graduates are notified by their schools if they are eligible for the HOPE scholarship. Harvard does not have clearly defined, required minimum scores; however, the majority of students admitted to the College represent a range of scores from roughly 600 to 800 on each section of the SAT I as well as on the SAT II Subject Tests. Several academic factors, such as GPA, class ranking and extracurricular activities are highly considered during the admissions process. The answer varies depending upon the test. A student may not limit the SAT scores reported to colleges; the College Board will send all previous SAT and Subject Test scores for up to five test dates.
