The Satin finish is a matte finish and the easiest to maintain. Because it has a low sheen, it is very forgiving insofar as showing scratches, dents, and wear and tear over time. The Semi Gloss finish has some shine and is a little harder to maintain in that it will show scratches, dents and wear and tear sooner. The High Gloss finish is the hardest to maintain in that it shows everything - dust, dirt, scratches, dents, and wear and tear in general the quickest.

Make sure not to graduate too quickly from a 180 file to the white block. Try using the white block buffer a little longer than seems necessary. Be sure to wipe all grit and dust from the nail and the 3-way buffer, as even the smallest amount of dust will prevent a high gloss. Cuticle oil may be helpful. There may be a slight color variation from batch to batch. Allow the polish to dry completely before you decide it doesn't match.

Cory High Gloss polish is designed to be used on all high polish finishes regardless of the materials used for finishing. We treat finishes made from lacquer, polyester, and polyurethane the same. with all finishes, the surface has to be clean to be conditioned. Due to the heavy loading of ceramic particles and solids into our CERAM-KOTE coatings, a true high gloss cannot be achieved with CERAM-KOTE epoxy coatings. We have many customers send this question to us. For the most part, this is a personal preference and for photos of sporting events any of the three will work well. My personal favorite is matte finish, but that also goes with the many of the photos that I have on the wall already. Gloss tends to show color the best, it also can be harder to see with light reflections shining off it. Gloss is also susceptible to fingerprints showing. Matte does not have the shine that gloss has.

Varnique semi-gloss finished butcher blocks clean up easily with mild soap and warm water. Varnique is impervious to most household chemicals, though it is wise to avoid the use of harsh chemicals or harsh detergents that may damage the finish. Varnique, though less permeable to water than natural oil, is not impermeable; therefore, it is wise to clean up liquid spills on your butcher block counter as soon as they appear.

It is not recommended. Structurally it will be OK, but the gloss glaze will eventually show scratching.

Just adding something to paint may or may not eliminate pinholing. If the cause of the pinholing is that the paint drying too fast, then adding up to 1 pint of water per gallon may help. Another cause of pinholing is excessive film build, which causes solvent pop. The top layer of paint dries faster than the underside and this traps the solvents in the paint. As the solvent attempts to escape from the coating, it first causes a small blister and then the blister pops leaving a pinhole.

High gloss exterior tables are a custom ordered table and do require regular care and maintenance. The table should be cleaned weekly with non-abrasive soap and water. To remove minor scratches and to protect the surface, use 3M Perfect-It Polish applied with a soft polishing pad. When the table is not in use it should be kept covered with a water resistant breathable cover to protect it from the elements.

There is no warranty coverage by Carver, or the vendor of Carver, once the table is exposed to daily temperature changes. This affects wood when it naturally expands and contracts. Your exterior Teak table should be oiled with a high quality teak oil. This should be done on a regular basis. We recommend a monthly application to keep the wood from drying out. When the table is not in use it should be covered with a water resistant breathable cover to protect it from the elements.
