The higher the resolution of your images, the better they will look in your screensaver. In all cases, upload the highest resolution possible. (A minimum of 640x480 is recommended.)

This website is optimized for computer monitors displaying at least 800 by 600 pixels at 24 bit color (16.7 million colors). On a Windows-based computer, you may change your display settings by going to the Start menu and choosing Control Panel --> Display --> Settings. Make sure that your display resolution is set to at least 800 x 600 pixels at 24 bit color. If the images still look dark, then please see below.

Go into the Device Manager and remove all items listed under "Display Adapters". To remove an item in Windows XP and Windows 2000, select the item, click the Action menu, choose Uninstall. To remove an item in Windows 98 and Windows ME, select the item and click Remove. If the installation asks you for the drivers, point the installation to drivers. Use the disk labeled "Electronic Manuals and Driver CD", to obtain the driver (you may have to browse to a specific directory).

Change your computer display's video settings to show High Color or True Color (more than 256 colors). Refer to the documentation that came with your computer or to the Windows help system (search for help on Display, Color Resolution or Color Depth) for further details about changing the Display settings for your computer. Is your monitor set to display more than 256 colors? Take a look at the two pictures above: if they look the same to you, there is a good chance that your monitor is not set up to display more than 256 colors. On the Macintosh, use the Monitors & Sounds control panel to configure for thousands or millions of colors. In Windows, right-click on the desktop, select Properties from the pop-up menu, and choose the Settings tab.

You've probably set your video display to use only 256 colors (8 bits per pixel). For the best appearance, set your video display to use thousands or millions of colors (16 or 24 bits per pixel).

To ensure that the videos uploaded to Go211 load quickly, we compress them. A side-effect is that sometimes this process results in diminished fidelity in videos. For the most part, however, the quality of the videos is directly proportional to the quality of the video uploaded to the site. In other words, uploading higher-quality videos will produce better results than uploading lower-quality ones.

Make sure you are downloading the full size image. On the display page, click the preview image to download the full size content. Then you can install it using the instructions above.

If you have noticeable grain or speckles on your film-derived prints it’s very probable that your negatives are highly underexposed (ie: they were not exposed to sufficient light). When photo printing machines encounter underexposed negatives they tend to boost the brightness to compensate, which tends to reveal bad speckly grain. Take a look at your negatives by holding them up to the light. If they seem very transparent and light then they’re underexposed.

That’s because we don’t render the images in full resolution to make the editor run faster on lower specification machines. If you double click on the image you can see the image in its full resolution.

Long answer = it all depends on how large a 'footprint' you want to make on your hard drive for screensavers. We've made screensavers with thousands of images. Note that the building of the installers will require approximately 3x the total space.

This is a problem at low light levels, and may be also due to subtle bugs in the code. The cause is most likely the OV7610 settings we are currently using. I am looking into this problem. Some of this is caused by the older technologies and manufacturing processes used in the OV7610 and OV7620AE. The OV7620 is much better about this.

The ImmerVision PurePlayer viewer automatically downsizes the image if your computer has insufficient free memory to display the full size image. Check that you do not have multiple panoramas open at once, or other Java applets open on other websites. When you open the panorama in a window you get a lower resolution version of the panorama - you can click the button to view full-screen, but the image may look pixelated.

One set of satellite images is ingested in reverse. Remapping the image to the normal view detracts from the quality of the image. Why do the geographical lines jump around from image to image? Why is the iceberg south of -78 in the 16:38UTC image, at -78 in the 9:19UTC image, and south -78 again in the 09:49 image? Why does the navigation (map outline) look rock steady, while the surface features don't? I'm not a POES user.

The camera measures light from an object at each point in an image and assigns it a number from zero to 4095 depending on its brightness. Sometimes the scientist can't afford to send this amount of data for each pixel because of the amount of storage it takes. The camera has the ability to convert this range of values to those from zero to 255. The camera does this according to a preset table of values designed by the scientists.

Only one image can be viewed in detail in the Image Workspace using the Insight Browser. The Java Client will allow you to view multiple images, at different scales simultaneously.

If fudge is stirred while the batch is still warm, a slight grain will result. This is traditional. To make fudge that is less grainy, use a recipe that has marshmallow creme as an ingredient.

The idle computer screen is an overlooked and undervalued piece of media real estate. Today, there are more than 140,000,000 computer screens in the U.S. alone (Newsbytes News Network, October 1999), and screensavers are the best way to reach these screens with full-screen, high-resolution imagery and entertainment. Screensavers have been popular for over a decade, ever since the famous After Dark "flying toasters" screensaver was released in 1989.

You are not viewing these images in a colorspace aware application. Note that most web browsers are not colorspace aware. You are viewing these images in a colorspace aware application, but have not assigned the proper colorspace to the images. Assigning colorspaces to images may not be an automatic process for several reasons: Your application simply may not do this automatically. Your application might have the ability to do this automatically, but it may need to be properly configured.

If you want to update the Eyetide Viewer manually, right-click the blue Eyetide Icon found in the lower right-hand corner of your screen-then select "Check for New Images..."

The unregistered version displays only one of your custom images in some effects, and the sample images used by default remind you to register the software. Please register the software to fully enjoy the program, and support further development. Make sure that you have installed DirectX 7.0a or above, and a 3d graphics accelerator with 8mb+. From your desktop right-click and select "Properties." Click on the "Screensaver" tab and then click on the "Settings" button. You have several modes to choose from. The default selection is that images will be displayed based on your current local weather conditions. If you are not connected to the Internet, they will be displayed randomly. You can also choose to view all the images randomly or sequentially even if you are connected. You may also choose to only rotate through your favorites.

These images are not taken in the same fashion as conventional x-rays, which is why they look different. However, if you take a close look at the images produced, you will find that they have much more information and are clearer than most conventional x-rays. They are different, but once you become familiar with the images, you will find them very helpful in diagnosis. If your scans are looking bad on the screen, but printing out satisfactorily, it could be your video driver that is causing the problem. Try some different resolution and color settings in the "Display" portion of your control panel (after first making sure that you have the proper driver disks to restore your system to the original settings). You should be using a driver that provides 16+million colors, and a resolution of at least 800 x 600.
