The typical training for a research astronomer includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Astronomy or Mathematics, followed by graduate school and a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Astrophysics. The American Astronomical Society, the professional association for astronomers in North America, offers a free brochure on careers in astronomy. High school students interested in astronomy should take as many courses in science and mathematics as possible in preparation for college.

There is really no such thing as a typical day. Professional astronomers hold many types of jobs, and since astronomy itself is such a multi-faceted subject, most astronomers find it difficult to describe a typical day. But certainly, a typical day does not include observing with a telescope. That is a misconception, and not how most astronomer hours are spent. Much of the time, an astronomer works at a desk, attends meetings, and works at a computer analyzing data or computing models.

All EMS personnel must start by recieving EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) training. Once completing the EMT Course, you must successfully complete written and practical skills testing as required by DHEC EMS Division. EMT courses are taught by all of the Technical Colleges in SC. You may register for EMT training by contacting the Continuing Education department of Midland's Technical College for training in this area.

I advise you to take as much math as you can. Having high school calculus under your belt will make your first physics classes much easier. Physics and other sciences should be a priority, too, but don't neglect other classes. Astronomers still need to be good writers and communicators, and good grades across the board are necessary for college admission and scholarships.

My short answer: No, it's not a good idea. Basically, if you're soliciting information from this document on whether or how to do this, you're not qualified to do this, so don't. If you want to be a professional astronomer then you need to study pretty hard and become good at mathematics and science, with a particular emphasis on physics. After graduating from school you will need to study maths or physics at University. Some Universities might also have specialist astronomy or astrophysics courses that you could take.

In order to be considered for honors you must obtain a GPA of at least 3.3 within the neuroscience concentration , submit a thesis, and present the results of your research at the Undergraduate Research Day in the spring. NUCC will formally review your thesis and decide if it merits honors. Simply writing a thesis is no guarantee of receiving honors.
