Our recessed light fixtures are made from aluminum. The body is thick and strong. It does not rust like other metals. The lenses are made in a double glass layer and are pressure tested to 2 tons (Moss & Glance) or 12 tons (Illusion & Mistral).

Compact fluorescent light bulbs may generally be used in enclosed fixtures as long as the enclosed fixture is not recessed. Totally enclosed recessed fixtures (for example, a ceiling can light with a cover over the bulb) create temperatures that are too high to allow the use of a compact fluorescent bulb.

The size of your part, type of material and production goals will determine the most suitable method. Generally, a vacuum system is the most efficient method of fixturing your material. CNT Motion offers vacuum systems with either a regenerative blower or claw pump. A rotary blower is usually better for smaller parts. You can also mechanically fixture your material with clamps, screws or double-stick tape. These methods would most likely require you to use a tabbing method of cutting your parts.

Check all sockets. Any broken sockets must be replaced. These are standard sockets available at hardware stores. If it still will not light, check the voltage at the light. Recommended operating voltage is between 10.8 and 13.2 VDC. If there is no voltage at the light, check the wires to make sure they are connected. Black wire is positive (+) and white wire is negative(-). Our fixtures are protected against reversed polarity.

All fluorescent lights require a ballast to function. Both magnetic and electronic fluorescent ballasts give off a slight humming noise; harmonics is the technical term. By design an electronic ballast has reduced harmonics and therefore the hum is less noticeable than when using a magnetic ballast. If the hum is louder than usual the ballast may need to be replaced.

Our current spacesuits/EMUs are a sandwich of 12 layers, each one for a specialized purpose. From the inside out, the first two layers are the liquid cooled undergarment, made from Spandex fabric with plastic tubing sewn in. Next comes the pressure bladder layer, of urethane-coated nylon, surrounded by a fabric layer of pressure-restraining Dacron. The next seven layers are for thermal and micrometeoid protection, consisting of aluminized Mylar, laminated with Dacron scrim.

Unfortunately nothing that you would be able to pick up at a local hardware store would work with the T5. The T5 fits in to it's own fixture.

In the prototype, electric motors were placed on the corners of a tetrahedral shaped structure, which are called nodes. The nodes are connected to struts which form the sides of the tetrahedral. The struts telescope like the legs of a camera tripod, and the motors in the nodes are used to expand or retract the struts. This allows the tetrahedral to move. Additionally, changing the length of its sides alters the tetrahedral's center of gravity, causing it to topple over.

In general, one can replace fixtures freely, subject to a few caveats. First, of course, one should check the amperage rating of the circuit. If your heart is set on installing half a dozen 500 watt floodlights, you may need to run a new wire back to the panel box. But there are some more subtle constraints as well. For example, older house wiring doesn't have high-temperature insulation.

We recommend using the PAR-38S PAR cans available on our Accessory Zone page for indoor applications. The cans are made of steel rather than the flimsy aluminum cans that are so common. They use standard screw-in base flood lights and come with gel holders and a hanging bracket for mounting the fixture. The unit also has a five foot power cord with a grounded plug. Another big advantage to using PAR cans is that you can swivel and tilt the can so that it is pointed exactly where you want it.

Helpful Hint: Take a string and tape it to a shape of a shade/globe made from cardboard, then tack or tape the string to the ceiling where you want the light fixture to hang. Adjust the string to different heights, then leave it there to live with for a while. Watch for vision blocking or positions where a head could come into contact. This will help you determine the right height for your custom fixture.

A total of 6 LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are fitted in most of our recessed lights (except the Illusion which usually has 12). LED's are very reliable components and have been used for decades.

The Moss & Glance fixtures require a hole of 4" (100mm) and a minimum depth of 2" (50mm). The Illusion & Mistral fixtures require a hole of 5.5" (140mm) and a minimum depth of 2.5" (65mm).

Yes. Usually a 3-31/2" hole is sufficient. We are happy to drill this hole for the customer upon request.

The light which impinges on the photovoltaic material is a solar spectrum, ie. an approximately 6000K black body curve filtered by the atmosphere. While some Federal and state funding has been dedicated to the corridor, not enough funding is yet available to complete Highway 610 itself. Due to this lack of money, the projects that will occur over the next few years will move roads and utilities out of the right of way so that freeway construction can begin at a future date with much less impact to residences, businesses and the traveling public.
