Can I protect folders on the removable drives, such as USB flash drives and others?

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
You can use Folder Guard to restrict access to folders located on the removable drives, but such protection will be in effect only on your computer, where Folder Guard is installed and configured properly. If you connect the removable drive to some other computer (that does not have FolderGuard on it), the folders on the removable drive will NOT be protected. If you need your removable drives to be protected on other computers as well, you need to use an encryption program.

No, you can't. The right way: first pull out the USB Flash Disk, have the state changed, then connect again. Improper usage may lead to malfunction or damage to the USB Flash Disk. The driver files are ZIPed, which means they need to be extracted before you can install them. Unfortunately Windows 9x doesn't support ZIP files as a native format, therefore you need to obtain 3rd party programme to extract the files. We recommend for this purpose WinZIP www.winzip.com.

Is it possible to move Mesnews on a removable disk or an USB stick and let it work on another pc?

MesNews, Newsreader (faq)
Yes, it is possible with your own version of MesNews, you can take your settings and all newsgroups with you because Mesnews stores the data in its own folder. Because of this is it possible to take it away (on a ZIP drive or an USB key for example) and let it work on an other machine without writing data into your register or on your hard drive. If MesNews is already installed you need only to copy the default folder to your removable device.
