Yes in addition to the computer data the full length audio CD is included. The computer data is hidden from audio players. The disc is mastered using mixed mode type 2 formatting to ensure compatibility with all audio players as well as almost all CD ROM drives.

In general: yes. This is one of the beauties of the CD-i system. Since both disc and playback device are extensively specified, every CD-i disc is compatible with every CD-i player, in contrast to a CD-ROM disc, of which you never know wether it will play on your PC-configuration. Look for the CD-i logo on both disc and player to ensure compatibility.

Make sure you are using CD-R disks, not CD-RW disks - very few CD audio players can recognise CD-RW disks at all. Make sure you are burning single session audio CDs with your software - audio CD players won't, for the most part, recognise data CDs or multi-session CDs. If you are burning single-session audio CDs on CD-R media and they still won't play on your audio CD players, then I'm afraid it looks as if your burner just can't produce disks that your audio players can read.

This limitation is dependant on the Recording device that you are using. Most of the devices on the market will allow you to create music CD's that you can play on any Redbook audio compatible player. However many of the CD players have limited tolerances and require accurately written and high quality CDs. So you may have to record at 2X or even 1X and use high quality (gold) media. Also, most players will not play CD-RW media. You must record using CD-R media.

When ADPCM audio clips are stored in IFF format on the disc instead of in realtime files (see What is an IFF file?, you can convert these into standard PC formats using the OptImage Audio Conversion Utilities (both available at the PC downloads for CD-i development page on this site).
