What architectures will be supported by The Fedora Project?

Info Kairali - Linux - Fedora Project
Red Hat will initially focus on the x86 family of architectures. Red Hat may also choose to build Fedora Core for other architectures, and in doing so will focus on architectures in which it has a business interest. This will make it easier to identify and fix bugs; the sooner they are found, the easier it is to isolate the change that caused the bug and therefore the easier it is to fix. Other community members are welcome to participate in building for other architectures.

Q 15. Are there design issues that I should consider for Service-Oriented Architectures?

lt;soaprpc/>: FAQ
The design considerations for Service-Oriented architectures should be analogous to that for component based architectures, like EJB. For instance, in EJBs, it is better (for performance reasons) to use a Transfer Object to return data to client rather than have multiple get() methods that return single attributes. This concept maps directly to Web service design, where it is better to have a 'coarse-grained' API, than a 'fine-grained' one.

How do I share files between builds for different architectures?

Cons FAQVersion 1.2
I try to set up a build environment where several architectures are built in parallel, but certain targets (for example C files generated by yacc) should be shared between all architectures. When I try to do this, however, cons always rebuilds the shared targets. I found the reason is that cons includes the build command's time stamp into the target file signature, i.e. if you have a target like Command $CONS "y.tab.c", "a.y", "yacc a.y"; The signature of y.tab.

Can the MCAT run on 64-bit architectures (x86_64)?

FAQ - SRB
The MCAT code cannot run in 64-bit mode, but if you use the compiler option to build in 32-bit mode and are using Oracle, the MCAT will work fine on 64-bit hosts. Using postgresQL there are additional problems in running in this mixed mode and we do not currently support this. Non-MCAT servers run on a 64-bit architecture without problem and can be integrated into an SRB datagrid like any other.
