Our program strongly suggests that ALP students stay at least one quarter in the dormitory before going to homestay or apartment living. We have found that students coming to the United States are not aware of the distance to campus. Hotels in the USA are relatively cheap and they have some lovely 'themed' hotels at the Disneyworld resort, for which some good package deals do exist. However, when considering do bear in mind that if you rent a villa you will have a whole house to yourself. If you stay in a hotel you will have a room with two double beds, a bathroom and possibly a kitchenette. Good value in theory but you won't think so when your children wake up at 3.a.
