Kaleidescape does provide a small amount of pre-loaded high-definition video content on every System that is sold. We plan to provide more in the future as we obtain appropriate licenses from the content owners. We are not confident that the fair-use provisions of the Copyright Act give us the right to do pre-loading of commercial DVDs or CDs without permission from the content owners.

If the hard drive system has LICENSED content, it is certainly legal to play any of these licensed products. Before you buy any such machine, you should ask to see the licensing rights for the music loaded on the machine.
