You have a ground loop problem. Try using a cheater plug that removes the third prong, also called the 'ground'. Do NOT ground the grounding tab on the cheater plug! That would defeat the purpose of the cheater plug for this application. You have an amplifier problem. If the ground cheater plug does not help, disconnect all interconnects from the subwoofer amplifier. If still hums, call or email technical support. You have a problem with other equipment.

This noise is normal and within the FCC standard for acoustic noise standard. The noise should be within the allotted 30dB/A level for audio. If you think the noise is excessive, call the Element Electronics technical support line. There is nothing wrong with your television. You must go into your TVâ??s menu, and then go to TV Setup -> TV System -> Cable -> STD -> Channel Scan. Once you have done this, you should have a good image.

This is probably the fuel pump which is located inside the gas tank. It's a common noise, even among some 3rd gen owners. There's really not much which can be done about it with the exception of replacing the pump and hoping you get a quieter one.

There may be some minor 60hz hum from somewhere outside of your subwoofer that is causing the sensor to stay turned on. Disconnect the input jacks and see if the light goes out (this may take up to 10 minutes). If the light goes out, then check to see if the CATV (TV cable) is connected to the processor upstream. The shield of the cable may not be well grounded and as a result it may be passing a tiny bit of voltage down the line to your subwoofer.

Some, if not most, Impalas arrive with the rear exhaust hanger bolts loose or missing. Have them replaced or tightened at the dealer. Also, there is a heat shield that goes around the plastic gas tank that runs close to the exhaust. It can get resonate when a larger or noisier exhaust is installed. If the heat shield is rattling, try getting some thick sponge or that gray spongy packing material and cut it into four large pieces.
