All of our tea boxes include suggested preparation instructions on the inside label. We have included iced directions for those teas that we find appetizing cold, but feel free to experiment with your favorite tea. Recommended directions for iced tea by the pitcher: Pour 2 cups of boiling water (for herb and black teas) or very hot water, not quite boiling (for green teas) over 4 tea bags. Steep 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the bags. Add sweetener and/or lemon if desired.

Make the same preparations you would make for hot tea for your iced tea. (Double the amount of tea for your cup or pitcher).Once your tea has finished brewing, double the amount of sweetener to your tea. From then, you can either had ice to your tea or refrigerate.

Make very strong coffee (50-100% more coffee to water than usual), use something like Cafe Du Monde which has chicory in it. Pour 6-8 oz into cup and add about 1 Tbs sweetened condensed milk. Stir, then pour over ice. You'll have to experiment with the strength and milk so you get lots of taste after the ice/water dilutes it.

Make even stronger coffee, preferably in a Vietnamese coffee maker. (This is a metal cylinder with tiny holes in the bottom and a perforated disc that fits into it; you put coffee in the bottom of the cylinder, place the disc atop it, then fill with boiling water and a very rich infusion of coffee drips slowly from the bottom.) If you are using a Vietnamese coffee maker, put two tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of a cup and put the coffee maker on top of the cup.

Our iced teas are specially formulated to make delicious iced tea. We recommend you try our hot tea blend for making hot teas.

Place the tea in a pitcher with ice, serve and add lemon juice in each glass. You will now have a wonderfully refreshing drink, with the genuine flavor of Taragüi tea.

To maintain the quality of all the parts and minimize tea and coffee stains, we recommend washing the pitcher/lid, baskets/lid, with warm water and mild detergent after each use. Hard water can leave mineral deposits inside the pitcher and brew basket. To remove, fill the brew basket and pitcher with warm white vinegar. Let soak for 20 minutes. Rinse.

Brew a pot of coffee using double or triple the normal coffee to ratio. After brewing, chill the coffee in the refrigerator or freezer, remove and add ice, cream and sugar (and any other flavouring such as cocoa, vanilla), serve in a tall glass and enjoy.

Kombucha Tea can become toxic if it becomes contaminated by pathogenic moulds or bacteria, such as C. botulism. However, these organisms will not grow in an acidic medium below pH 4.

Yes. The strong antioxidants, catechins, and flavonoids are in equal amounts in hot and iced green teas.

Yes. Antioxidants are equal in brewed Black Teas whether they are hot or iced—but not necessarily in instant teas because some of the antioxidants are lost during the additional processing. Research findings suggest you are in the clear. Sugars, sweeteners, lemon and milk do not appear to affect the antioxidant levels of Black Tea flavonoids. 7 In fact, there are additional nutrients found in lemon and milk as well as unrefined honey.

Make sure that the steeping dial is in the closed position during the brewing cycle, which would allow tea to steep.

Make sure that the tea is not steeping for too long. Drain the remaining tea from the steeping basket by turning the steeping dial to "open" when the unit shuts off.

Brown sugar contains molasses. While some people consider molasses to be a contaminant, many others still use brown sugar with excellent results. They also report that brown sugar produces a very tart Kombucha Tea, tasting strongly of vinegar.

Honey can be used to make Kombucha, however, it should be pasteurized first to kill any wild yeast cells as well as the enzymes which are responsible for the production of hydrogen peroxide in honey.

Making compost tea is a snap! The name says it all-simply steep your compost or vermicompost in water to create hearty liquid sustenance for your plants. For compost tea, grab a large 5 gallon bucket or similar container and fill it loosely with only your finest batches compost. If you have a poor compost yield, your tea will be similarly lackluster. Add water to cover your compost, then stir the bucket contents daily for a week.

Sometimes the minerals in the water will form a scum-like deposit when they are combined with the natural oils and other ingredients in the coffee bean or tea leaf. This substance, composed of natural oils and minerals, is harmless. To alleviate future coffee or tea mishaps, you may opt to use softened water or non-bleached coffee filters (see additional note on softened water under "white flakes" information below).

All Dreamsweet Organic Medicinal Teas are actually infusions. To get the maximum medicinal benefit from the herbs in the tea, it is best to prepare the tea by pouring boiling water over 2 - 4 tablespoons of the loose herbs in a teapot (or a pot on the stove). Allow the herbs to steep for 15 minutes before straining the tea into your cup to drink.

Well, this is always the great debate. I like my tea strong, as in if it disolves the spoon, it's still a little weak. Other people I know like to preserve their stomachs. So, lets just say I give enough for one really strong cup, or 2-3 regular ones. I'd rather give you too much than not enough.
