They indicate that posts are directed to specific people. To flag a follow-up for the previous poster, click the "add name of previous poster" box. To find posts directed specifically to you, you can use Find in your browser to look for "& your name". If your browser understands Javascript, you should also get a button that does that for you.

There could be several reasons for this occurrence, but if you do not have a recently released browser installed (for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6), the browser could be having trouble interpreting special characters, such as the en dash [–], the em dash [—], the copyright symbol [©] and the bullet [•], or accented alphabet characters, such as the "a" in "Hernández.

Internally, Leo represents all strings as unicode. Leo translates from a particular encoding to Unicode when reading .leo files or derived files. There are special fonts that were included in your installation, and they may not yet be recognized by your PC as being available. Therefore, use the Windows Explorer (or some other folder viewer) to find "C:\WINDOWS\FONTS" (or use the Windows Control Panel to find "Fonts." In the menu of that window, select "File," followed by "Install New Font." When FSP doesn't get any response from the server, it keeps on sending requests. The first time it retries, it prints an "R", (meaning "Retry"), and the second, third, and subsequent times, it prints an "I". You might also see an "E", which means "error": FSP got a packet, but it was corrupted for some reason.

It could be caused by several things. You might be sending e-mail in HTML to someone whose e-mail program can't read it properly, you might be using a non-standard character set, or, the recipient of the message is probably not using a MIME capable program to receive your message. First, check to see which character set you are using. The default is the Western character set, but sometimes, that setting is changed accidentally. Go to Tools on the menu and select Options.

A lot of our fonts are based on historical calligraphy or antique type designs. In the many historical periods and regions there were no letters for 'j', 'u', or 'w'. Control Characters are specific characters that can be entered in graphic text (e.g., titles, legends, scale values, added text, category values, category names) in order to customize the text. If the text is entered via the Graphic Text Editor dialog, then specific customizations (e.g., attributes of text) can be entered by highlighting the respective part of the text and then pressing one of the mini-toolbar buttons.
