Resolution refers to the number of dots of ink per inch (dpi) in a printed photo or the number of electronic pixels per inch (ppi) in a digital file. A typical picture off of the Internet has a low resolution and will not reproduce as well as a traditional photograph will.

Resolution determines the quality of your image. Image file resolution is measured in PPI (pixels per inch) where pixels (picture elements) are a single point in a graphic image. Therefore, the density of pixels has an impact on image quality and print size. In general, the higher the PPI, the better your image will reproduce when it is printed.

We provide repeat image files in EPS (vector) and tiff (bitmap) formats. The tiff files are full size at 300-350 dpi, and the EPS files can be sized to any size and resolution with no loss of detail. For photographic and fine art editions, our ideal file format is a flattened RGB tiff. We also accept jpegs, PDFs, and native Adobe PhotoShop formats. As for resolution and sampling rate, 24 bits / 44,1 kHz (or higher) in .WAV or .AIFF is preferred. That said, other formats are able to be accommodated, but we strongly recommend against mastering, for example, from a MP3 source because of the "heavily" decreased (at least for the mastering stage not high enough) quality that comes about as a result of the encoding process.
