The RM-UC1 has a sliding lock to lock the cable release for BULB exposures such as night photographs. When the lock is in the "Up" position, the camera shutter will remain open after the shutter button on the remote control is pressed. Slide the lock to the "Down" position to close the shutter. Aim the RM-1 Remote Control at the Remote Control Receiver and press the [W] button on the RM-1 to open the shutter. The shutter will not be released if the subject is not in focus. The photographer should stand behind or to one side of the camera so that the autofocus does not focus on the photographer. Under bright light conditions, the remote control lamp may be difficult to see, making it hard to determine whether or not the picture has been taken.

The remote cable RM-CB1 can be connected to the power battery holder HLD-3. The RM-CB1 remote cable cannot be connected to the camera body directly.

Your lamp should run for approximately 30 hours before it burns out. The lifespan will vary depending on how it is used (i.e., on continuously for long periods vs. repeated brief flashes).

The bulb in your tanning lamp will last about 250-300 hours which is about 1600 10 minute sessions. The bulbs do not burn out, they eventually lose effectiveness even though they will appear to be working. When you notice there is no longer any tanning effect you should change the bulb. Changing the bulb is easy. There are instructions in your manual and you may order replacement bulbs any time.

LCD bulbs usually last any where between 1000 ? 3000 hours. If you use it a couple of hours a day you will probably replace it every 2 years. LCD bulbs lose their intensity over time. Some manu-facturers claim that their bulbs will last 5000 to 6000 hours, but they are expecting you to use them at 20% or their original intensity. We recommend you change them when they reach 50% of their original intensity.
