Unfortunately you can't access our online resources unless you have access to a computer with an Internet connection. You can, however, use resources from other libraries using a TexShare card. The state of Texas has a reciprocal borrowing program called the TexShare Card Program. You must get your TexShare card from COM Library at the circulation desk. Participating TexShare libraries may extend free reciprocal borrowing privileges to each other's students, faculty and staff.

It is not a problem to download the program on a slow dial up connection. The audio component will take the longest as it is a rather large file. If your connection drops during download you can easily resume when connected again. Download will take approximately 48 minutes on a very slow connection.

No. Even though system itself runs on the client computer, it relies heavily on the Internet connection. The system will be virtually unusable if a dial-up connection is used.

The Library is currently not able to offer TELNET access to a text-only version of the LC Online Catalog. An alternative interface is available using the Library's Z39.50 Gateway.
