Air injection stunning forces air, in addition to a mechanical penetrating rod, into the animals’ brains, resulting in rapid unconsciousness. The air injection apparently improves the effectiveness and humaneness of stunning, but it also causes pieces of the brain matter to be spread in the body, which raises concerns about contaminating other parts of the carcass with high risk brain tissue.

When we are not making our CSA deliveries, we are busy in our greenhouses growing herbs for winter wholesale deliveries or planting and cultivating the crops that will be harvested in early spring.
